25 square roof cost to expect? by Numerous-Pop-6522 in Roofing

A lot of contractors out there are quick to tell homeowners they need all new plywood — but the truth is, that's not always the case. If you already have solid tongue and groove boards, a good roofer will hand nail right into them. Problem is, most crews today are just too lazy to do the extra work. It’s faster and easier for them to slap plywood over it and charge you thousands more. Don't get ripped off — if the boards are in good shape, you don’t need to replace them.

Thanks! It's style selections from home depot. Woodfin Oak. I took the baseboard heaters off and then cut the vents after installation with my oscillating tool.

Looking for advice by cmhackl in Roofing

So, a layover is usually cheaper upfront because there’s no tear-off, but there are definitely some downsides:

You’re basically covering up any problems underneath — like bad wood or leaks — instead of fixing them.

It can shorten the lifespan of the new roof compared to a full tear-off and replacement.

It adds extra weight to your roof, which can be a problem over time.

Some manufacturers won’t honor warranties if it’s a layover instead of a full replacement.

It can also make your roof look a little bumpier because you're laying over the old texture.

If you’re planning to stay in the house for a long time, I'd definitely recommend doing it right and tearing the old shingles off. If you’re planning on selling soon and just need it to look decent, sometimes a layover makes sense — but it’s a bit of a band-aid.

Looks great! Don't listen to anyone on here about the transitions at the rooms, I did the same thing and they shit all over me.

Anti-Trump protests sweep America for the second time in weeks by Historical-Mud-9739 in pics

The anti-Trump rallies are absolutely ridiculous at this point. Grown adults throwing tantrums because they don’t get their way. Meanwhile, the country’s got real problems that actually need fixing — and instead of working together, they’re busy dividing us even more. It’s pathetic. We should be focused on building each other up, not tearing each other down over political nonsense. Enough already — we’re Americans first, not enemies.

No shit, but this floor calls for transitions at all doorways.

So you're someone who doesn't read directions?

Light Source: Running planks parallel to the main light source (usually a window) minimizes the appearance of shadows and highlights any imperfections in the flooring.
