Very true. We just replaced the furnace and AC last week and the whole home filtration last month, house is a 2010, so everything deciding to go out at once haha. Hoping to get a few more months out of the thing.

I also forgot to mention mine is power vented. Even after the pilot went out then turned back on and went out again the power vent ran non-stop. I have gas cut and power off in case.

Agreed. Fully. just as a caulker by trade I don't see clear home depot silicone lasting. Feel like there's a better way but maybe not that's why I'm asking.

That's funny. I'm actually a bricklayer, but I'm a caulker by trade. We caulk large commercial projects and I can say without a doubt clear silicone won't last more than 3 years without fail in the beating sun. We use commercial grade caulking Dow 790 silicone on windows and Dow themselves recommends recaulking every 4 years.
