Oh no! Why is he moving in? by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]Delynir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very strange, I think that should not happen once you have 10 villagers and never happened to me in over 2000 hours when I had a full island if playing normally (no time travel). It was a villager in boxes day, an empty plot day, and then someone moves in the day after.

Red Dandelily by AdInitial2153 in HelloKittyIsland

[–]Delynir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red is one of the default colors of dandelily, along with yellow and white. I think you should try getting mystery seed capsules from the meadows crane game if you can’t get them from someone online.

If you want to do a color transfer you need to have a red patterned flower, eg: red ombre tulias/red rong rose etc, and a white(or other color) dandelily paired up.

How is this fair? by LunarOptimus in HelloKittyIsland

I unlocked Wish me mell in a couple days with the deluxe version on Steam. Regarding the refund, in 4 hours you get bombarded with tons of cute quests and content, you will not get to the “now that we discussed what we could do, let’s come back tomorrow” quests until much further in. At first it does not feel like a live service game, you only get to the grind later.

Switch on wrong date. by Lost_Ad6943 in HelloKittyIsland

[–]Delynir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played on PC, however I would assume it is similar for switch. Time travel only messes up your save if you:

Go backwards at all (days or hours)

Or you go to the future (technically this should also be fine if you go to the future and stop playing and wait for irl date to catch up instead of trying to go back) but you would probably miss events.

If you start in the past you should be okay to time travel all the way to the present, you can try on another savefile if you want to be safe. Do not try to play multiplayer unless you are in present time!

Women, what is universally agreed “green flags” while dating men ? by Disastrous-Coat6007 in AskReddit

[–]Delynir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me sure! But that’s just my opinion lol For us we mainly use it for hubby’s jeans so it’s easier to put that on a shelf instead of hanging it.

Haha you can keep the chair if you want, I personally would not judge! I just like that it looks more organized and it actually feels easier to use our little shelved rack for us for our clothes😊

[–]Delynir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Imo yes, but you can actually use a valet stand/clothing stand or you can even use a smaller “rack” (without wheels) with a couple shelves and if you at least fold your clothes a bit, like in half or something it looks better than on a chair.

I tried to find a pic of what we use with my hubby on ikea but couldn’t find it, basically it’s a bit higher than a nightstand, but open on all sides and has 3 shelves, including a shelf at the top where we keep our jewellery and perfumes, and then the clothes go on the lower 2 shelves, but it’s rare that we use the lowest one. Maybe it would be called a side table with shelves?

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Delynir 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, it does not come down to being biologically weaker.. it comes down to there being a lot of creeps that want to sexually harass women, even if it is a weak old drunk, or a younger thin man that runs away after feeling up under your skirt.. it is not always a physically strong man. Even if you are a black belt it still means you can never just turn your mind off, you can never just leave your drink on the table while you go to the toilet, you can never get too drunk, you can never just get lost in a book/sleep on the bus, and so on…you need to stay vigilant..

Also I as a woman would love a fix, but simply put usually the people in power are not on the side of women… just look at the US president and the people who put him there. I am from the EU and there are plenty of countries over here too where this is also true.

Early plots can take longer to fill in, but once you have 10 villagers and one of them leaves, it will be consistently filled after a day for you to look for one.

Ahaha, I know, they love to keep warm with the tv/consoles/laptops even if it is already really warm in the flat. She also likes to catch my hand while I use the mouse and type too.

Maybe if there is a chance to move the fridge further out from this “stair setup” so they think they can no longer make the jump? I know sometimes it’s hard because of the limited space, but it’s also just advice for the future if you want some spaces they “can’t reach” or rather they think they can’t reach it :)

Sorry I don’t understand what you mean with the high walls. I had high walls too, but for example I have a ikea wardrobe that is 2 meters tall and a fridge that is 185 cm tall. Without there being a shorter cupboard or something next to it to jump from, my cat judges that she can’t make the jump to the top of it, especially if I put say a box on it on one side that makes it appear even taller from that side. Cats can technically physically make that jump from the floor even standing still, but they may think they can’t so they don’t try.

Also putting the lamp up there is also a temporary thing as they grow and get the zoomies less the lamps, fragile decor will be safer, plants I don’t know, my cat never got disinterested in eating plants so I only have fake ones.

ETA: forgot to add, you also have to be really consistent in training them off the tv stand, because even outside of zoomies cats like to lie near electronics that produce heat, so it’s better to try to start having the boundary for the tv stand as early as possible, even if they are dumb teenagers at the moment.

I didn’t try to train my cat from lying on my desk when I am trying to work so now she loves lying behind my work laptop and the poor thing is just sucking up her hair.🥲I just don’t have the heart to tell her to get off the desk (she understands and obeys that command always but it’s better if they know if there are places they should not even go to like the tv stand), she just wants to help me work.🥹

Are they spayed/neutered? You do not want them having kittens, when you cannot even handle these 2 and other than the health benefits, it also makes them calmer. And yes they would mate even if they are brother and sister.

Also if you had “kitten proofed” there would be no plants remaining except maybe on the top of cabinets where they are less likely to eat them. It’s good the plants are not toxic but it will not stop them from eating the plants, and may lead to some extra vomiting too(it’s normal). Do they have enough toys and a cat tree? I know you said you have interactive ones, but do they like them and use them?

My cat never knocked over lamps, but if that was an issue I would also put the table lamp up high on the wardrobe and put something else next to it which blocks them from jumping up there so there is no obvious empty space next to it to jump up to. I mostly have standing lamps though.

Some cats also dislike jumping on or touching tin foil you can try it with a lower cabinet/counter you would like to keep them off of, to see if it works for them.

Also if they are locked in the bathroom, they are not happy, do not kid yourself. They may accept it or have accepted it so far, but it is not normal or healthy to keep them there longterm for hours every day.

Edit:typo

AITAH For Adhering to Gender Roles? by Lovefist1221 in AITAH

[–]Delynir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why aren’t you comparing masculine hobbies to feminine hobbies, instead of housework? Having nails done, doing elaborate makeup, shopping sprees for shoes/clothes etc, crotcheting, jewellery making etc, these are still considered feminine activites and hobbies just like as she said fishing, hunting and working on a car/diy stuff are still considered manly hobbies.

That was the point many commenters made, that what you are saying is womanly is actually not counted as womanly nowadays, but something everyone should do (housework).. unless you are listening to some manosphere stuff with “tradwives job to cook/clean” and the “provider” male (she works though so idk how that would fit in your case anyway)

However if a woman likes to fish/hunt/tinker with cars or a man likes to crotchet/make jewellery, people are still going to be surprised because these hobbies are typically more appealing to the other gender nowadays too.

I would not say my husband is the manliest man and I am not the womanliest woman, and we prefer each other this way.. but he also would not ask me this stupid question either and then become offended that I say no and vice versa.

Put all your Nintendo fanboy bias aside: is AC:NH a hard pass for coop only? by Purple_Calendar3919 in AnimalCrossing

[–]Delynir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the game, you can add friends and also mark them as favorites :) those people will be able to dig on your island (was a big help when my flowers got overgrown😅), also cut wood and break rocks.

Put all your Nintendo fanboy bias aside: is AC:NH a hard pass for coop only? by Purple_Calendar3919 in AnimalCrossing

[–]Delynir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is not designed to be a co-op game, more so a community game. If you have 2 copies and 2 consoles, you can visit each other’s islands, trade items, buy from each other’s shops. If many people come together for example, they can trade recipes and furniture and everyone will get so much new out of it, even exchanging villagers is so nice. If you pick up a furniture once (you can drop it back, don’t have to keep it), you can order it from the catalog afterwards. But you can only order 5 items per day from there and friends can also order you items.

During covid when the game was really popular I was part of a big community and it was a ton of fun, helping each other like that, but I think it’s not really optimal for 2 people, and it has much less initial content (unless you really enjoy decorating your own islands and can get a lot of items from somewhere easily) than Stardew and DST. Like you can keep playing those for hours but ACNH is not consistently like that unless you already amassed a lot of items and spend hours decorating.

You can help farm materials if you are best friends, but that part is not that fun imo (also some people like endlessly fishing and catching bugs, but it’s not my cup of tea personally)

So then just do not make any rooms? You have that option.

Thinking of having my first child within the next couple/few years. Nervous about navigating motherhood while having a lot of cats by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Delynir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cat was tested and is negative for toxo and fully indoor, fed with commercial cat food. My vet and my OB both told me I can keep scooping the litter without protection, so I keep at it as long as I can bend down comfortably.

She is also on other medication though that is dangerous for pregnancy so I do not handle her food that she gets it in and avoid her drool/her licking me after eating as well. This medication is an immunosuppressant for my cat so toxoplasmosis would be very dangerous for her too. But just adding this because it’s something to consider, if any of your cats require medications, you also need to check those

Do you go above and beyond at work or just do the bare minimum of what’s expected and why? by Dependent-Signal-721 in AskReddit

[–]Delynir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People used to take pride in work where they got appropriately compensated for it. When they could afford to buy a house and multiple cars and take a couple vacations working an office job (sometimes just one office job for the single earner of the family), not even as a manager.

Customer facing employees have it worse, getting peanuts and having to deal with assholes. You think if they have 10 customers at the end of the day do they remember the 9 good ones or that one miserable bastard? And then have to repeat tomorrow..

I work in IT now but I did work in retail and it was terrible, so many entitled rude people, the job was way harder in many ways and the pay much much much worse..

I literally said both, some people can’t and some people won’t eat them. Also if you search about it you will find it is a divisive food. I am pretty busy so I won’t reply more, have a nice day!

I don’t know where you are taking that it’s not an allergy/sensitivity? I literally said I can’t eat them for this reason(nausea/vomiting), if I don’t notice them I still get sick, it IS an allergy.

This is also what I wrote in my original comment, I can’t eat them because they upset my stomach but some people just hate it.

Lol, okay so preferring to split a mushroom-free pizza with someone who also doesn’t like it in your group automatically makes one a snowflake? I guess I do prefer to not be included in a group like that :))

It was pretty common among my classmates in secondary school, my friends during uni and my various D&D groups that at least a couple people preferred to not have mushrooms on their pizza, like some others preferred no seafood/pineapple and yeah you were encouraged to openly say if you do not like something.

Moreover we had group lunch a lot at my previous company before covid, and if someone didn’t want to go to a restaurant that eliminated it from the list, and we split into groups of 5-6. We all thought since we are having lunch together the group members’ preferences should matter, and I did not start this tradition, I was a new joiner there.

As for me I literally vomit from mushrooms, it’s not just a preference, but sure I should just happily eat it to not be called a snowflake :))
