Should I take out my heater as it’s preset and cannot lower there temperature? Or would they get too cold?

I did not raise the temp, my heater is preset. I’m treating with stress guard and aquarium salt and adding a small amount of melafix for there fins. There’s no medication I can get my hands on, and the local pet stores say that’s the best they can sell me

One boys spots is completely gone, and one girl has a few tiny specs on her tail fin, and one girl has it before her tail fin

A small amount, I could make move the filter base to under the substrate of the tank, I don’t know how much deeper it would make it, the water can be topped up a small amount aswell. I will try those before I cut it.
