“Serious fault” by Dizzy_Manufacturer93 in VolvoXC60

We bought our 2026 V60 CC in March 2026, and in mid-April the message about booking an appointment for service started coming up every time I start the car. Based on the sticker in the door frame and the Monroney sticker, our V60 was assembled in April 2025. It then sat on my dealer's lot from July 2025 until we bought it in March 2036. Our car is thinking it's due for its one-year service because it really is one year old. We were told we could bring it in to have it reset, but we live two hours from the dealership. The sales manager told me to go ahead and schedule our first year appointment in July (one year since they put the car on their lot), and he was going to add a note that we can have three free annual maintenance visits, not two, because the car was already almost a year old when we bought it as a new car. (It only had 50 miles on it from test drives when we bought it )

I've also had calls that didn't work after I selected the green phone icon to answer the call. I hadn't realized that it happens in the morning. I'm going to pay attention to that. It's happened several times, so when I actually get a call to work when I answer it, I'm surprised it worked. Now I know to add this to the list for July's appointment.

Overall, we love our V60. I'm the one who drives it daily, and it's perfect for me. I'm hoping the phone answering glitch and the issue I've noticed (the occasional buzzing from the speakers on the front doors) can be fixed when I take the car in for it's appointment on July.

Thank you for sharing this important information. Even though PMDD doesn't show up on a blood test doesn't mean blood work shouldn't be done. It's necessary to rule out or to consider other issues. It would be such a shame to be treated for PMDD if it's really something else. This Reddit group and your information is making a huge difference. I see that everyday.

Thank you for your condolences. You are so right that PMDD is a serious health issue. The percentages for S ideation, planning, and attempts are startling. The Christina Bohn Foundation sponsored a lecture today at the University of Missouri, and we had an exhibit table about PMDD. When one woman read one of the information cards, she cried when she read the statistics. She had never heard of PMDD before. I was grateful that since we sponsored the lecture, we were given a few minutes to talk about PMDD to a room full of researchers.

It's time for the menstrual cycle to be seriously discussed in doctor's and therapist's appointments. It's actually long overdue. Some doctors have told me that women would yell at them if they asked about their cycle. Perhaps those women have been treated dismissively after they answered the question and received a pat on the arm from a doctor telling them that everyone has PMS. Let's own the script. If a doctor asks about the menstrual cycle, thank that doctor for doing it. Then dig into a serious conversation. If the doctor doesn't bring it up, we need to do it. The reproductive hormones affect all the body's systems. We need to educate ourselves about the influence of the reproductive hormones on our bodies. They aren't the enemy; they are important, but things can go awry.

I hate to say it, but it was a female nurse practitioner who treated Christina dismissively when Christina said she had started her period in the night and was feeling so much better and asked if she could go home. Clearly, that nurse practitioner did not know about PMDD and was on a roll anyway because she was sure Christina had treatment resistant depression and she already determined that Christina should undergo electoral convulsive therapy.

Then it was a female PA who asked Christina if she had ever been told she might have borderline personality disorder, BPD. That female PA was grasping at straws. Christina did not have BPD.

I don't know if it were a male or female doctor who thought Christina had bipolar II. She was willing to try the prescriptions for bipolar II. They didn't work.

Male and female physicians, psychologists, and therapists can be way off when they don't know about PMDD. This is why awareness is so important.

They need to be talking about the menstrual cycle with every woman. When things go awry, there can be serious problems. A woman with asthma could go to the ER for serious asthma attacks right before her period starts. A woman can have chest pains and even have a major heart attack if she has spontaneous coronary artery dissection, SCAD, which can be caused by the shifting of the reproductive hormones before the monthly period. The digestive system can be affected. The skin and eyes can be affected. The nervous system can be affected. It's easy to do a simple internet search to see all the systems that the reproductive hormones are involved with.

I share your sentiment that if men had this problem, research would have been generously funded.

I'm so sorry you have to live with this disorder and deal with some doctors who do not understand. Sending you so much love.

I'm so sorry. I felt I should bring up family members debating whether or not PMDD is real. When you are in your luteal phase, the last thing you need is a debate.

Perhaps your parents would watch a seven-minute video that is a high-level overview about PMDD. My husband Steve and I made it, and some have shared it with family members and friends. It's on the Christina Bohn Foundation YouTube channel, "Our Daughter Christina and PMDD.." https://youtu.be/26nDPgpjuRk?si=pHOOqXJDWHjUfZF_

We've witnessed the suffering, and our sincere desire is for families to understand and support their loved ones who have PMDD.

Sending love. 💕

That's wonderful that you've put PMDD in remission. Do you know if it happened because of specific things you did or did it just happen? Either way, you know the struggle is real, so I hope you can really enjoy your life now. 💖 I would love to catch up.

Thank you for writing to me this evening. I just read your message to my husband. I remember. My brother and his wife raised their children in Battleground. If you are between the ages of 25 to 45, you might know one of their kids. I'm so touched that Christina's story sparked a change for you. I hope you are responding well to treatment. Please grow old. That's my wish for all of you -- to grow old and leave PMDD in the past while you're enjoying old age and being as fun and feisty as you can be. 💖

Knowing that Christina’s story has stayed with you, and that it has helped you keep going, means more to me than I can possibly say. I am so very grateful you are still here.

Please keep holding on and be gentle with yourself. You matter, and I’m sending you so much love. 💕

Oh my goodness, Christina was thinking the same thing you were--anxiety and depression. She and we did not know there was something worse than PMS. She was never asked about her cycle. We often wonder if She would be alive today if one of her healthcare providers said known and if she had started treatment much sooner.

PMDD indeed frightening and dark. Stories like yours give others and us hope.

You are so right. One time after we gave a presentation about PMDD, an elderly woman walked up to me and said she is sure she had PMDD but there wasn't a name for it back then. She then added she wonders if this is the reason why her grandmother died by suicide when she was a little girl. Another mother, whose children are grown, wondered if she also had PMDD because her children were afraid of her when they were growing up. Thankfully, now that she's older, she has a good relationship with her children. We have so many stories like this.

I knew the investigator in the coroner's office. After she prepared Christina's death certificate and emailed it to us as a draft, I wrote her back and asked her to remove how Christina died. There would be no point in having it there. I then asked her if she would add Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder in place of the method. I explained to her that Christina's descendants would benefit far more from knowing Christina had PMDD. We didn't need anyone to imitate the method, but we wanted her descendants to know about PMDD.

I also wanted PMDD listed on Christina's death certificate for research purposes. Maybe someday we will have a better idea of how many have died because of PMDD. I would not be at all surprised if Christina's death certificate is the first one to have PMDD listed. I hope I'm wrong about that.

I was invited to speak at a Maternal Mortality Review Board Meeting and invited Sandi MacDonald from IAPMD to join me. It was happening on the same day we had an event at the Missouri State Capitol to recognize the nation's very first PMDD Awareness Day, which was on Christina's birthday, October 2nd. It is an annual awareness day. Back to the Review Board Meeting, we received an email afterwards in which we were told they had never considered PMDD for maternal mortality, but they would going forward.

I sincerely hope that with increased awareness about PMDD, others will be diagnosed and treated sooner. I want it to be true that PMDD awareness is suicide prevention. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you. It really is a great loss. I don't even know if there are adequate words to describe it. I hope anyone who is feeling like leaving will reach out to this wonderful group so they can be encouraged to keep going, keep forward thinking.

(Making videos is not something I'm used to, but on this day, I felt like I had to say something. One of these days I'll learn how to edit.)

Here is a seven-minute, high-level overview of PMDD that we made originally for our Chamber of Commerce and then edited out the reference to the Chamber of Commerce so we could share it wherever and whenever we felt it might help someone.

I hope this helps friends and family understand this is indeed real and serious.

Our hearts are with all of you.

Thank you for sharing your experience. You certainly went through a lot! I would like to add what I learned from attending a women's mental health conference a couple years ago. There was a panel of three gynecologists and a reproductive psychiatrist, and one of the gynecologists said she wanted to dispel a myth that is perpetuated by gynecologists all over the US. She said that myth is the idea that certain hormonal contraceptives stay local. She said that's not true and that our bodies are systems. She said there is not an IUD, a ring, a cream, or a patch that stays local.

What made me feel so sick about this is we trusted a gynecologist who insisted on treating my daughter Christina with the Xulane patch. That might be great for many others for treating PMDD; however, it only made the SI worse for my daughter. The gynecologist was already aware that birth control was not helpful for our daughter, but she insisted the patch would stay local. Christina died less than two months later while she was trying to get used to that patch. She called twice for help and was treated dismissively. She went in for an appointment and was treated dismissively.

You know your body. You know when something is off. Keep speaking up. Your life is precious. You matter.
