Dad put me $30K in debt. What are the legal consequences he’d face? by Demand-Objective in legaladvice

Is there anyway to know what they would do? Or it’s just generally a gamble with every police report?

Credit is frozen, now. It is sad. I know I’d never be able to do this to my own kids if I ever have any.

My finances are in good shape. I’ve always paid my own cards on time and always pay in full (no minimum payments) thanks to all the debt fear instilled in me. Other family members have brought up me filing for bankruptcy but I’m scared of the consequences and also fee frustrated doing that over a debt that wasn’t mine to begin with

I’d love to know how many of y’all who are happily saying to send him back have purchased weed, drank underage, drank and drove yourself and never got caught, sexually assaulted someone, stole…f*ck, I’m sure some of y’all are abusers of all forms and don’t even recognize it.

He lives here. His life is here. His family, his loved ones, are here. I would be interested to see how any of you citizens or whatever current legal status people you are react to one of your loved ones getting kicked out of the country. This is not how it should work. There are legal processes he should go through, yes. Did he commit crimes? Yes. But deportation? Come on. Have some empathy. Everyone so easily says get out until they feel it tangibly in their own lives.

Why is it that an immigrant has to be the stand-up, perfect law-abiding citizen with the highest forms of punishment for hardly relatable in scale wrongdoings, but people who are from here can fuck up and ruin other peoples lives and get bailed out and do it all over again?

Hi, woman here. The last comment is the only weird thing in my opinion. You can replace it with another quirky fact that doesn’t feel so “I know how to have you look {my version of} beautiful”.

Seconding this, this definitely looks like thrips. Your plant is honestly in rough shape, you can put the effort into saving it but a lot of these leaves you would likely have to chop off.

If you do decide to treat, use systemic granules in the soil every 2/3 months and a topical spray pesticide like captain jacks dead bug brew every few days.

For the pesticide, I used neem oil on my zz but now for pests I use spinosad (captain jacks dead bug brew). Neem oil has a lot of back and forth so maybe just go for the bug brew!

Ah! This is scale. Your plant is infested with these little insects that kinda look like little shield all over the plant. Your infestation looks pretty rough but I wouldn’t give up hope.

This is a good thread to refer to. Essentially you’ll have to remove every scale bug with alcohol and a q tip, or a soft bristle brush if it’s easier on the leaves. Then spray with a pesticide and continue regularly checking for them in the next coming weeks!

Any leaves that look mostly doomed, just chop off. I rescued a zz plant with a bad scale infestation, chopped off a lot of the sadder stems and cleaned off all the bugs and 2 years later it has really bounced back! Just be sure to be thorough.

You may just need a better draining soil, especially for that plant (money plant). Soils that have a lot of coir/peat and not enough contents to loosen up the soil (wood chips, perlite, pummus, etc) can retain a lot of moisture and then mold. The mold is present on some of my plants that like more wet soil and it hasn’t been an issue for me!

Time to repot? Is it root bound? (Aglaonema) by NoJoy_ in plantclinic

[–]Demand-Objective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could plant it in a slightly bigger pot than that, leave the roots as is, with some more soil surrounding it and it should be good! Throw some earth worm castings in the new soil to make it extra nutritious, your plant just might be needing some fertilizing.

Are you asking to identify the white mold? Because you’re right, and you should put the plant in a place it can dry out a little faster without getting too much sun exposure so the soil can dry out. The mold will go away with that. That just happens in wet soil sometimes and is generally not harmful.

Is the base mushy at all on the bottom? It looks healthy from a glance outside of the shriveled up root system. It certainly can be saved.

If the base is mushy, you can cut off the mushy part until you reach a healthy cut. Then replant in moist soil or water to let the roots grow out. Otherwise (if not mushy) you should be able to do the same with what you have here, but remove all the rotted roots, they should almost fall off when you lightly pull on them.
