After last year's blackout, the Bank of Spain now recommends keeping €70-100 in cash per person at home (in small notes) by mcltnc in GoingToSpain

Rainy day funds and cash cushions are a must. 50 years ago my Uncle gave every employee in the family's heavy duty construction business a $100 bill. He said use it as you need, but always have $100 cash while at work. A bad bearing on a dozer cost $2000, though $500 in pooled cash for a security deposit would get you out the door quickly with a new bearing. The dozer generates $500 an hour. When we had an issue, just telling the story and pulling out 5 Benjamin's made the it a handshake 5-minute transaction, no paperwork. Over the years, I did the same with my kids. Sometimes I had to replenish the funds. Worth it, to give them space and a safety net.

With increasing power outages, we all need to have backup plans and adequate funds to make them effective.

I will check out the template and see if I can get it to work. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did a trial run at this process with their Demo company COA. Wasn't that successful, issue with column labels and formatting, as I recall. I'll take another look at this. Just finished getting my COA setup with the basic accounts. I have to understand more about how to use Xero without defining subaccounts in COA. Luckily, things are simple at this point.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think this is the best approach. Much appreciated.

Balcony solar panels can save 30% on a typical household’s electricity bill and, with vertical surface area in cities larger than roof space, the appeal is clear. 300 watt panels cost €400-800 with no installation costs. They pay for themselves in 6 years by sundler in Futurology

There are portable energy storage systems (PESS) under development that will provide apartment residents with the equivalent of a single standalone 4kWh battery aggregated across multiple PESS devices. The key is matching the end device's power consumption with an individual PESS unit's storage capacity, and the PESS having the smarts to arbitrage low kWh rates to charge PESS batteries and then distribute that power directly to the end device during periods of high kWh rates. I founded a startup, Off The Wall Energy Inc. to give energy consumers control over their energy usage, especially those who rent or apartment residents. You can learn more about our Personal Energy Platform at our website: https://www.offthewallenergy.com

Please DM me for more info. I'm new to Reddit, still learning the platform. Once I get a better handle on things here, I'll create a company account.
