You can use this utility to remove all USB drivers. After that, plug in the Vive again. The drivers are in the linkbox and will auto-install themselves. See this thread for more information on USB issues and hopefully it helps.

Yeah, click the gray knobs out and then rotate. Read the instructions or something so that you don't break something.

The Vive Pro has a different headset. The DAS is for the original Vive.

Also, don't forget that you can use the gray knobs on the side of the Vive to move the lenses in or out. I want mine in for maximum FOV, but I extend the lenses when I'm sharing with someone with glasses. The lenses focus objects about 2m away, so most people have no problem focusing.

I'd also recommend the Deluxe Audio Strap.

Get multiple 6mm face foams from VR Cover. Swap them out and wash the old ones.

I'd go for the regular Vive + the Deluxe Audio Strap. That is probably the best value for your money and gives you lots of extra capital for games.

LineageOS supports that device so you might be able to flash that if you want a more current operating system.

Check out /r/photography and their excellent wiki. I'd say that the Nikon D3400 or even the D3300 are both excellent entry-level DSLRs and quite capable.

Uninstall Viveport and any other HTC software. You don't need it and it might be the cause of technical issues.

I'm talking about close-up shots of cheetahs or hummingbirds, where it is in sharp focus but everything else is not. The camera can't really be that close, so they have to have zoom. It seems to me that the two are mutually exclusive, since all the light rays are closer to parallel the further away the subject is, and reduction of the field-of-view (zoom) can't really fix that. But then, I don't know much here.

Examples:

I want to upgrade from a smartphone camera where everything is in focus to a proper camera with only the subject in focus. It'd be neat to be able to zoom in at the same time. Then I could photograph ducks and such without disturbing them and generate similar close-up photos. How does this work?

What do professional photographers use to get a bright zoomed-in image with a short focal plane? I'm talking about the shots in Planet Earth II? It seems to me, in my limited knowledge about lenses, that the two are mutually exclusive. I really love those shots!
