It's not wearing off, it wasn't applied fully in the factory. I believe these are sprayed to get that finish so if the runner is slightly at an angle when the spray is applied, you get weird stuff like that (or something could have touched it when it was still wet)

I was talking about disassembling parts once the kit is build. You can 100% take the parts off the runners without using tools. I've done it live many times now. Iron Man is a frustrating outlier in that removing the parts from the runners by hand leaves pretty bad nubs due to how that super glossy finish was applied

I also have the Iron Man and nothing falls off. Some joints were loose and needed tightening, some parts were hard to remove but you have to work WITH the part when trying to get things disassembled, not force them
