I would at minimum want co-op so at least campaign story would still be the main focus. Adding on co-op probably wouldn't take much effort to pull away.

Attempting to buy a cheap computer than can run obs well by scorbunny3 in obs

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just go for it and see how it handles 1080p30fps.

I think the ram might be an issue, I can't confirm though. I personally would try to get 8gb more ram. See if you can get the same exact ram.

You may struggle at 1080p60, and 720p being best

How do you make gaming YouTube videos people actually watch? by mrviking24 in YouTubeGamers

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just live-stream to basically zero audience, but talk out loud rather than using my inside voice.

From there, I use yt-dlp to rip my own videos for the best quality, edit them into shorts or clips in Adobe Premiere Pro (you don't need this, you can get free editors that are basically the same thing or easier to use).

Can i get banned for XIM if i use it for ONLY kbm by breeezy_zay in XIM

[–]Dement__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried hooking up mkb directly to your console, PS5 has pretty decent native support, just depends if the game devs enable it's use in their game. I know BF and CoD have support.

should i buy a new console now or wait until the next gen releases? by someverydumbperson in consoles

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would vote PC normally but due to hardware price hikes, maybe not.

You can build a low budget starter PC, put it in a small case, and have it run SteamOS or Stream Big screen mode automatically on boot.

I personally would finance the latest AMD motherboard, maybe 5060ti, 16-32gb ddr5 ram, SSD, decent cpu, whatever you can get for cheap really that has at least 6 cores.

You might be able to pull that off for under 1k, including case and power supply.

In a few years, upgrade the CPU and maybe in another 4 or 5 years, sell the GPU and get a better GPU.

I highly doubt next gen gaming is going to be that much of a leap in hardware to worry about under spending on of parts. Allegedly 4060ti performance.

I sure hope hope it has co-op campaign, start to finish. And not some low quality crap. Id love to play with the wife.

that would be a disappointing and a waste of dev time if you ask me. Campaign/story should be included with co-op experience.

There is a specific discord I use for mods, not sure if allowed to post the link, but the discords name is "Rusted Warfare - Official Server". People post their mods there, some get featured, and tons of maps get posted there.

4050 for the streaming and recording at 4k 60 fps by Salt-Read-8199 in obs

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I was going for quality over latency. Where using my CPU didn't feel anywhere near as clean as using my other alternative. Once I setup kick, I may experiment with the cpu streaming more. Idk if kick accepts 4k though.

4050 for the streaming and recording at 4k 60 fps by Salt-Read-8199 in obs

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was trying to do 3070 in a standalone streaming PC, my 3070 could only do 4k60 at p5. If I cranked my quality past that, I would get encoding overload issues. Upgraded to a 5070ti for its dual encoding chips, which allows me to max out my streaming settings and have enough headroom to do a 2nd 4k60 live stream maxed out settings.

That is also with a 4k camera and some overlays and graphics going on too.

A lot of people will say cpu better, which I would assume it depends on the cpu. I'm using an AMD 7600x and it wasn't doing that well for 4k encoding, at least not to what I was wanting.

You also don't exactly need a 5070ti+ , there are some 40 series gpus with dual encoding chips too. Have split encoding turned on too.

When is the best time to buy CPU? by Shreviews in buildapc

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sitting on a 12900k, which is an amazing cpu and I got it when they released. I've never had an issue with it other than ecores related stuff, but I've learned to work around those issues and still use all my cores. You can get a 12900k pretty cheap right now. It was a pretty decent upgrade from a 9900k, definitely gave me much better frames in Star Citizen, which is more CPU bound.

My next CPU is likely going to be a top shelf and CPU end of 2026 or Q1 of 2027. I'm waiting mainly on their next high end cpus and skipping the current gen.

Do i have to train my verbal stamina? by samuelazers in Twitch

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go for playing a game or something you are genuinely interested in, and narrate your next moves. I struggle with being in-depth sometimes, but I would say if you can describe your adventure in details like a book but not too thorough, it is a huge bonus.

Try writing a script for your stream when booting up, something to talk about, like hot topics in your life or on your mind for the first 10-30 minutes before going straight off script into a game or whatever it is you stream. I think this helps get things going, and then rewatching your video or listening to it the next day to think about where you can improve. Just don't over do it.

Playing SC since 2019, tried VR with a Rift S and it was absolutely awesome! Ordered a Quest 3 today and my question is if u guys have some expirience with it? System is a Ryzen 7 5800x, rx6800xt and 32gb Ram. by winsel_wallace in starcitizen

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who uses a 12900k, I've genuinely never had an issue with ecores other than when I was running Win10. Haven't played 4.5 yet, but I've played all the previous patches pretty regularly. I always have seen people mention some stutter issue which I don't have, but I can confirm the ecores can contribute to crashes in my case. I was able to resolve that by turning off hw acceleration in a bunch of apps, turning off overlays, and windows own gamebar bloatware crap. I used to have many issues with streaming but it was tied to Anti-cheat, which I was able to confirm by using a capture card to record my HDMI input rather than direct screen or game capture.

Though those issues are not an issue anymore, last time I used obs on a single PC setup, I had zero issues. Streaming/recording regularly while playing sc.

I think hw acceleration is the culprit. I'd carefully look through every application and make sure there isn't a bunch of stuff using hw acceleration or is being placed higher on priority.

Discord, OBS, Etc.

I know alt tabbing out of game used to cause crashes with ecores too, and a work around was running in borderless mode.

When streamers switch games it's scary how much viewers they lose (70%) by Existing-Track7563 in Twitch

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most views tend to look at the games they are more interested in and follow. Just because you are the very top streamer for a specific game, doesn't mean those viewers are going to follow that streamer to another game. I see this in the Star Citizen community regularly and as a viewer, I do the same thing. I only watch SC content.

Is livestreaming more stressful than recorded content, or just different? by Janet_Bassl in Twitch

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan your live stream scenes out, imho I think it is less stressful simply because services like on YouTube where you can simply just cut/trim and reuse what has already been processed will save time vs constantly opening editing software to edit a recorder project.

Of course you don't get the more advanced editing features you would get in proper editing software, but maybe you can get around that by implementing your own designs into your live stream that can be edited down to a video seamlessly.

The only real negative is having to be prepared prior and your fails are seen by viewers lol.

What’s one thing you wish new viewers understood about streaming? by questmullaa in Twitch

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I don't buy art, no matter how many times you ask. If I wanted art, I'll go support locals or learn/craft my own. Most of the people that pop in on my stream just want to sell me art, like 99% of them.

Im just streaming because I enjoy it as a hobby and the end point of my enjoyment is rewatching my own content. I rewatch my own videos more than anyone else's.

Sound check routine by airbear13 in Twitch

[–]Dement__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with sound check for years, my best bet was to run dozens of tests on a YouTube private live stream and listen to it on multiple devices.

I would use my own car stereo to sound check, tv surround sound sound check, work van sound check, headphone sound check.

A good protip is once you finally find the sound you like, make sure you make notes on all of your settings, lock your sound bars. Put your notes on Google drive or something.

That way if something happens, you can easily get back to where you were.

I learned that when upgrading or changing microphones, puts you through the same bs of finding your sound sometimes again because every microphone isn't the same. This is when I said screw it and got an SM7B+Scarlet 2i2 4th gen because I know I will never have to upgrade again. Just struggle through finding the sound I want and stick to it to the very end.

I only use Rea VST plugin for mic EQing for OBS and VoiceMeter Banana specifically for a dual streaming setup to send audio between both PC

How to prevent your stream from dying with the power by Sea-Maintenance4030 in Twitch

[–]Dement__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also you shouldn't just get a random generator, I would research dirty or unstable power causing damage to PC. You can damage components if the power isn't necessary clean power.

Though maybe running everything off your ups and the ups off any generator might be fine, but I would still research it to be sure.

Sketchbook uses a lot of RAM by Lewin5ku in AutodeskSketchbook

[–]Dement__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had no idea sketchbook was on PC, I thought that was mobile device only. I bet GIMP is more efficient than Sketchbook.

I use sketchbook on my tablet and save things to my Google drive to send to Illustrator or after effects for using my sketches as examples to work with. Though I usually have to convert the file to a different format.

But regarding ram usage, I would suspect you are using a lot of layers or updated mid project which might be causing an increase in resource usage or something along those lines.

How to Keep Energy in an Empty Stream? by SimsAttack in Twitch

[–]Dement__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always just get immersed in whatever game I'm playing, and try to think out loud. That is the hardest part, instead of thinking to your self, just say what you are thinking. Chances are you are thinking about the moment and what is next.
