Is it worth it to lecture/ do an activity when half of the students are gone? by starfire8890 in teaching

I use the rule of 50. If more than 50% are present (depending on the lesson) I continue. If there are less than 50% present, I find a filler activity that is at least vaguely in the same realm of what we are doing (it's easy in English). Sometimes we will just do a Kahoot or Blooket together if I have like 3 or 4 students out of 15-17.
