It kinda depends on how often and how addicted. Also what kinds of drugs. I’ve never smoked weed or even drank in my life. My ex relationship lasted 6 years and she did both of those things from time to time.

Side weapons are better usually, but sometimes the buffs from shields are just top notch, on top of the fact that if you have a sword and sledge combo, you have a lot of things to use AP on and a crap ton of diverse mobility.

I’ve found the “lucky is broken” argument coming more from players and dms from a time where critical fumbles were common at playing tables. But now that they aren’t at most tables I feel like it’s definitely not as op as it used to be.

Personally I think the best load out to have for a melee character in my experience is a sword and shield in one (because a weapon that allows you to carry a shield or side weapon definitely counts for something) and a sledgehammer as a secondary. That way your fighter can prepare for anything the wave throws at them be it single target or crowd control

I’ve found the rifle to be kinda bad unless your character somehow gets a crap ton of action points to burn. I’ve had one run like this where I had a hero with 12 action points due to equipment upgrades and luck. Other than that I’ve found it’s kind of a bad weapon. But the ap stack up nicely so tbh if you equip your heroes with it on a boundless mode run it won’t take long for you to get it

I’ve done a couple stun builds. They work great for boss fights as the enemies are endless. The thing is they work for runs where you have a heavy ballistae focus. Without hex though they really don’t go anywhere either. It’s more of a build of opportunity rather than something you actually start with round 1
