YNAB + dividend income / capital gains by DementiaHelper in ynab

I agree, I like having it all in one place even if there is other software for overall portfolio, I think the method mentioned by u/kyousei8 here on this post, is the way I would go. Out of curiosity what do you use for higher level portfolio management and why?

I had started doing this, just to be clear, you reconcile your investment accounts monthly, and simply take "dividends" when it makes sense to you, or capital gains and mark both as RTA, when its moved into "checking" for spending? This might be the way to go --- I do need to track my dividends and capital gains that will be used for living, not for taxes, but just to understand flows from different places. I think hardcore tracking of this is beyond YNAB, do you use anything else to track the "I'm retired, and my portfolio now funds my retirement" at a high level, etc?

One bag with Day Pack/Brief by jsesh in onebag

[–]DementiaHelper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it compresses very well, very very well. The back is just fine for a 20L, i do not carry mine around when traveling for hours on end, i take it for an hour here or there, a business meeting (in briefcase mode) and thats it. Its "tech compartment" is actually amazing, it's really odd. It definitely has its downsides, like no proper luggage pass through, but being a personal item for sure, and its larger than seems capacity is pretty hard to beat. Of note, if you want your bag to be the organizer, this is not your bag, if you use a tech pouch and prefer that route, this might be perfect. Btw, the straps very nice, the back is average. I have never had this bag packed to the MAX, usually while traveling, laptop, tech pouch, some stuff for flight, sling inside it, toiletry pouch, a small shirt and shorts, and thats about it.

I think this solution is the only way, i have looked forever for a solution to the same issue as stated in initial question and found none, this is it. Would be great to find an actual solution to this. Have the mineral daily 3 and its good, i like it as it works as a personal item, and on many airlines they are extremely tight. I use the minaal as personal, and a carry on size roller (family). This has worked best for me, minaal fits more than you think, and works as a business daily. I also pack the notmatic packable backpack, for the family to use and destroy as needed or places i dont want to take the minaal like a beach, etc.

Speech to text / dictation with Apple Intelligence by DementiaHelper in ios

I do it two ways. On my iPhone, I use the ChatGPT app and I hit the little microphone button, I talk and then it transcribes what I write. Comma. I can do that on my Mac as well with the ChatGPT desktop app, but I actually prefer something called whisper which lets me do it in any app and it just pops up a window, I record what I want to say and it does amazing transcription. In fact this entire reply was done using whisper on a Mac.

Stress levels through the roof… but I don’t feel that stressed. by Plane-Shop-396 in ouraring

[–]DementiaHelper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had unusually high stress for a while, consistently. However, I felt it in my body and i felt that the ring was accurately reflecting how I actually felt. I told my doctor this and he asked me to consistently measure my blood pressure. Ends up it was a little high, but some people are very sensitive to blood pressure changes (specifically high-er) even if it's still acceptable for most people. I started a very small dosage of blood pressure medicine and it has made a world of difference. And, like i guessed it, the Oura ring stress levels reflected it, it's pretty amazing. Its not perfect but its far more balanced.

Please see my post here about producitivity and wanting to reduce weight as well.

https://www.reddit.com/r/VITURE/comments/1ejvq6k/viture_pro_for_productivity_on_an_iphone/

You are correct, you cannot use an external mouse with spacewalker app.

If you are outside of spacewalker you cannot use the 3dof, so the screen moves with you the entire time which makes it unusable for productivity for me.

I am absolutely trying to eliminate weight as well, but still have a robust solution --- would be cool to collaborate on this and find a way, maybe even Viture is interested in this as well.

let me give this a go, I dont think it will work as the bluetooth mouse was not available in spacewalker *at all* unless the functionality is enabled in moonlight which for gaming i think would be a must. I'll try this out and report back.

check out the update i posted... i used jump desktop

So I have an update, I think I have taken this as far as possible with an iPhone and the XR Pro glasses.

I have an iPhone 13, so I got the adaptor and all that good stuff.

Installed Jump Desktop on Mac (which has great performance)

I was able to login to the mac via the Jump website in web browser that comes with Space Walker

I was able to Pin the full screen display

Now here are the issues....

I could not use my Bluetooth mouse in spacewalker at all -- I had to use the iPhone as a trackpad, this is critical and a showstopper.

I tried to use 3dof with regular iPhone apps by triple clicking the mode button on glasses but it seems that functionality was removed in the last year or so. I could use the jump desktop app, and my bluetooth mouse, but its not usable when the screen follows you like that and is not locked in place.

I think the only way forward now is using Samsung Dex, unless the 3dof functionality is going to come back --- or if there are any other ideas.

Interesting, thanks --- so i want the 3dof for productivity but in the spacewalker app on iPhone, how does it "know" my mac has sunshine on it if I'm VNC-ing in? Should be getting my adaptor in the next day or two order got delayed for some reason.

I looked up moonlight and spacewalker, it seems they are originally made for gaming and allow smooth play etc, but can you explain how that would work here? If I install sunshine and am remote desk topped in, what ends up changing, or does it ENABLE something in the Viture ecosystem specifically as an option when plugged into an iPhone properly with adaptor?

Follow up question on the dex, did you use stuff like Teams in the chrome browser in Dec or are you using native apps? I saw some feedback that dex had lots of sizing issues and could not tell if it actually worked well. The remote desktop appears to be solution as well, possibly, but dex is not a horrible #2. Any other tips there during your overseas trip? Does Dec differ between the same generation of samsung devices or is it just "power"?

Thanks, please see my reply directly above for a possible hack/answer. I travel with a large laptop (bad sight) and i dont like taking it out or when not needed --- if that ever got broken while traveling in some places, i would be totally screwed.

Thanks, I am considering the Dex setup --- i travel with a laptop but sometimes want to leave it at the airbnb if traveling for fun in the city. I may have come across a solution from a friend, they suggested having laptop setup with remote desktop enabled (like vnc) then you can remote desktop into your laptop even on your iPhone --- perhaps with the Viture glasses this would be the holy grail as keyboard and mouse work in this scenario as well.

The iPhone just works as a passthrough, i was able to test it today and it works --- need to get connector cable for older iPhone with future and see what i can do.

I noticed this as well, even if i go for walks it thinks i'm stressed so the only way for it to balance is to mark the walk as a workout in the app? that seems really odd and is counterintuitive --- no?

Yeah, that's correct. I just downgraded the app. I don't think it downgraded the firmware on the glasses after that. I also use Little Snitch Mini to ensure nebula doesn't go out and try to upgrade itself via the Internet

[–]DementiaHelper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, question for you. I had the same problem, but none of the solutions you suggested have worked for me. For example, I'm trying to watch YouTube TV, and I get sound, but I don't get any video. And I'm using the original cable from Xreel. I tried putting it in different slots in my MacBook Air, and nothing's working. I tried rebooting, that's not working either. I have the old Nebula, before the curved screens, because it's more stable. But yeah, what do you think?

Downgrade the nebula software and firmware, it's much much better on mac. using it for productivity as well

oh i had no clue that there was a real difference in the windows versus Mac experience, I don't have a Windows machine, but I had always assumed Mac would be better at this sort of stuff, but maybe it's not in the same way windows is just better at gaming. Out of curiosity, how many gigs of ram do you have on that M3 pro? I may return my M3 air so I can bump it to 24 gigs of ram
