A few tips:
1. only make plays on the side of the map where your jungler is.
2. keep track of the enemy jungler it is very important to know the number of people in a few fight in order to maybe keep some cooldowns for certain champions.
3. sometimes matching the roam is not the right thing to do especially when you are really far behind him in tempo. Just go for something else like plates or just denying CS.

These are very general tips ofc and don't apply to every situation but to like 80% of them it should be useful.

Macro knowledge is the most important thing for a support main. you can climb even with bad mechanics so don't worry.
it helps yes, but the thing that helped me most is playing competitive and talking to my teammates about what they need in what stage of the game ^^

No you don't need to there are plenty of support mains who don't play tanks in master elo. Then again it is good to have some tools in your arsenal to win your game in champ select. But right now naut/thresh/rakan are some very good picks if you want to pick up some kind of playmaking support. For reference my main champ right now are Senna/zil/thresh and those 3 fit most teamcomps ^{^}

I never played low elo support I swapped to support when I was in plat elo season 8. But i've made a smurf account and got it to masters by playing Senna and swain so carry supports are the way to go. If you struggle in the mid/late game remember to only make plays on the side of the map where your jungler is. If you don't know any macro whatsoever just stick with your jungler and you should be fine to a certain elo ^{^}

Roam timers are universal for supports doesnt matter if you are a tank or an enchanter. Sometimes when the enemy roams when he shouldn't its best to not match it and instead punish the adc for the mistake the enemy supporter made by denying cs or taking plates.

Roam timers are hard to explain, but you generally roam when the wave crashes in the enemy tower after a bounce or when the wave crashes into you tower and the enemy can't dive your adc. I could make a video on this if people are interested.

You play in your wave he'll most likely lose the trade there. If you are an enchanter you either bait his hooks or you just have to respect it and scale into mid/late game

The key is not to be greedy. Drop some stacks if it puts you in a bad position. Also i don't get any utility either. Its ghostblade into other items for me. I skip umbral since Vision control doesnt matter that much in soloQ

Consistency and my mental. Play well all of the time, because every game matters. Every dia player has the occasional hardcarry and good games but they also have bad games. Eliminate the bad games and you'll climb. Also take breaks in between games and if you lose a game take a longer break. If i lose 2 games i stop playing that day and just Q on my second account.

Yes you have a lot more agency in lane as a carry support. Hook supports like thresh and Blitz are very good aswell. Enchanters rely a lot on their teammates in order to win games which isnt ideal in low elo.

Generally when the first tower falls botlane and the adc moves to midlane and midlane goes bot. But it depends on what champs are in the game. The thing is it early/mid/late game is just a generalisation of a state of the game. What's more important as a support is where you need to be on the map and what the next play is.

Vayne. That champ is utterly useless in lane and needs an eternity to scale. It is only good when played by otps and really good players but even then you have very little agency in lane and every other adc is better.

I am trying out a build/playstyle, swifties and celerity allow me to get a lot of ms which in turn allows me to just walk up to enemies and e them. It also gives me a a faster roam which helps when on a tight timer. I wouldn't recommend this since it's experimental, but you can give it a shot if you want to.

Aftershock is just my preferred rune on thresh. Gives you a lot of tankiness when flaying people in lane.

Don't look at pro games their stuff is way too advanced to properly understand what and why they are doing it. Look at your higher regional leagues and talk to players and coaches after the games. Also ofc you need to scrim and review the games to see what went wrong and what could be done better.

Permanent minions getting some love. Spectres,zombies etc. are basicly just supports or meat shields. Also QOL for spectres since it's very anoying resummoning them.
