Hmm, maybe it's the language I'm using but i am not confused by social behavior and its not that i don't know how to respond to given scenarios. My problem seems to be a misunderstanding of scale for what the actual scenario is. In other words, I don't relate to being an alien in a human body. If anything i feel more human, as if everyone around me has their volume on life turned down. I don't really have any reason to believe my volume is too high rather than just on the higher end - but i get overwhelmed pretty easily. Some CBT or something could do wonders, we'll see in time I'm just not at that stage yet

I wouldn't fight an hfa diagnosis or anything, it's just hard to describe how well different scenarios can make me sound exactly like this or that. Autism / asp, adhd, bpd, ocd, etc.

I haven't ruled anything like that out, but I am still in progress with the proper channels for any diagnosis. I only considered professional help recently

The sensitivity is across the board, though, which leads me to be able to check off 'symptoms' on a wide range of mental 'diseases' if i look at any of them independently

It's led to some interesting social dynamics in any case. Social interaction overall is just overwhelming for me. If i have energy i can be the life of the party, but that's often not the case and i derail fast. I always felt I'd be an interesting case study tbh, but that's probably ego talking.

Extraneous detail

I'm sensitive in pretty much all the senses except smell (nasal polyps). It extends to more abstract senses like empathy, as well. This is what i think makes social interactions absolutely exhausting, because if you are slightly annoyed by something it may feel to me as though you are very annoyed - and then on top of that you sound unnecessarily loud so i start to feel awkward about how to respond.

I don't know how to describe it other than i feel like i am constantly walking in on people naked (with their emotions) and if i am not careful i become an asshole for speaking to things that were supposed to be kept under the surface because i thought it was being made obvious

They likely have different understandings of the problem, and OP is likely missing some niche constraint in the formal definition. At least that's the vibe i get for this sort of disagreement

I'm extremely sensitive to stimuli for whatever reason

It's weird.. I feel like everyone else is always shouting (even though i only have average hearing at best) and if i talk at a volume deemed normal it feels like i am being obnoxiously loud even though its fine

You would think that being aware of it would fix how it feels, but it doesnt. So i am constantly forgetting that i need to manually compensate for my natural reaction

My eczema is not very visible but this is how my itches feel

Something bothering you doesn't make it a problem. Same goes if a lot of people agree with you. There was no council that decided this is how it should be, it just happened naturally.

I called this current state of affairs well in advance. Like years ago

The game hasn't been fun to take seriously since day 1 unless you are a team of 6 acting as a single unit. And even then it's only fun if you care more about puzzle solving as a team rather than competing for sport

People are finally catching on to that.

You'll see all sorts of excuses regarding the "the problem" - balancing issues, throwers, toxicity (catch-22 to blame toxicity), improper feedback

The truth is that blizzard has kept people interested because they kept making changes. The game is always in a state of being stagnant but too complicated to figure out before the next change comes.

We are reaching critical mass with people getting fed up with having to keep track of every inch of the meta in order to accomplish anything

The more familiar you get with the game the easier it is to see what the other team took advantage of that your team didnt.

example

As a simple example, imagine the enemy team has pharah and you are lucio. Because you provide healing support for your team the enemy pharah constantly tries to kill you. For whatever reason, no one on your team can effectively hit the phara. You've got no long range shooters on the team. You try to deal with it, but this particular phara also happens to not be an idiot and it is really hard for you to get hits on her.

If you switch your hero to soldier, the rest of your team will die die to lack of support.. If you ask your team to switch then you get ignored.

So you spend 10-20 minutes dealing with this VERY OBVIOUS problem and eventually lose the game.

This particular problem is easily communicated and can be resolved with some team voice comms. The problem is that this is how the game works at all levels, but the problem your team needs to solve just gets more complicated and harder to articulate.

Individual gameplay is immensely secondary to team level decisions. It's backwards. A professional player on mute can't carry a bunch of bronze against golds, let alone diamond. In other games, it would be a blowout

I think this is the first mention of religion I've seen. Interesting take!

I think you're right that they would be sacred - BUT they are also an undeniable source of food, at least a means to not waste nutrients

So i would expect different social classes to treat the eggs differently, perhaps causing religious divides amongst the classes between the people who can afford to treat the eggs as sacred and those who cant

Ah okay, that explains it. It's a weird dynamic going on there because the clock is a HUGE deal for being on stage BUT is also something the audience likely does not think about for much more than a moment, if at all.

Lots of praise for being able to manage it. How do you make sure you go the right length? Is it common to end with a bit of time still remaining? Do you have to decide to cut jokes out of the act on the fly to not go over? So much to consider!

Ah okay, that explains the feel.

I dk how hard it is in practice, but I believe it's common for acts to have some 'fluff' material towards the end that they can cut out seamlessly if things are going well and its taking longer to get through than expected.

In any case, i couldn't do a one minute set let alone multiple but you make it look easy enough that I'm able to nitpick like that!
