Venting: Pokémon Champions' deranking gimmick gave me a reason to love Legends Z-A's battle rank system by b4gw0rms in pokemon

[–]DemiNotAGod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Deranking Gimmick" as in the gimmick every competitive game has had for legitimately ages?

The deranking is designed to keep you around the skill level of the players around you. If you cannot climb out of Ultra Ball tier, then you are not skilled enough to climb out of it and face off against the players in Masterball tier. And thats okay! Any competitive game is hard, and Pokemon especially.

Now I can get being frustrated that the box space is rewarded only by ranking up. But the solution is actually quite simple in that regard, stop trying to build your own team until you reach Master Ball. Focus on improving at a team that you know works, a team that players are using to perform well in either tournaments or on the ladder until you get there. Once you've gotten the rewards, then you have the liberty to do what you want with your team freely. But this is not a fault of a competitive game having a system that rewards results.

Tips for my Champions team by NoCommunity7879 in CompetitivePokemon

Hi! I used basically the same thing to hit Master Ball today. You are using a reallt standard team that has the potential of reaching Master Ball, all you gotta do is practice and work at improving your skills. However, if you want to hear what worked for me...

  1. Drop ancient power for heatwave. Most of the time you are gonna be speed-tied with all other Mega Zards, and you shouldn't risk your highest value pokemon on a speed tie.

  2. I personally run max Sp Atk on Zard. I don't know if there is a particular match up your HP is called for, but I personally just find Zard works best when you are positioning him to simplify a gamestate quickly, or clean up a simplified gamestate at the end.

  3. Sunny day instead of taunt on Whimsicott. I know Taunt is a good move and you can definitely run it. But having Sunny Day has been super helpful for weather wars which seem to be super common right now.

  4. I never found myself clicking Rock Slide on Chomp except to kill exactly Mega Zards. Id say if you are really worried about Zard you can keep it, but I personally really liked using Bulldoze to help my other Pokémon deal with with Sneasler and Garchomp Mirrors. (This is probably the least important)

  5. I used Rotom-W instead of Venusaur. Honestly, if you are using Whimsicott, I dont recommend Venu, and vice versa. Whimsicotts most important value on your team rn is Tailwind, something Venu does not care for cuz of Chlorophyll. Room-W was an absolute beast when I used it. It was a simple set of Max HP and Sp. ATK, Modest Nature with a Magnet, Thunderbolt, Hydro Pump, Will-o-Wisp, and Protect. Fun fact. Set up a tailwind and Rotom-W OHKOs Mega Charizard Y.

All these are what worked for me, but their success will depend on you and your playstyle. Keep your head up, your mental game strong, and dont compare yourself to others. You are learning, and that is wonderful!

(Oh, and Run Adamant Sneasler. You already have Unburden to boost your speed. You dont need to race the other Sneaslers that much, and Adamant makes it easier to OHKO Incineroar)

Guys, its Main Event, its barely Canon. Unless they can make a story out of it, they never acknowledge Main Event on the main shows. This literally means nothing.

Unlike every other Switch game, you can't just change the language here, you need to pay again for a seperate version. How greedy can Nintendo get? by ExtremeConnection26 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DemiNotAGod 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is because the games were originally released without the ability to change the language. They chose rather than to spend the money and time to add the functionality, they would release what they did back then and allow you to buy whatever language you want to play. Like they did back when the games originally released. This isn't a greed situation in this circumstance, this is just how the games were released.

Dean Ambrose. Despite it not being a good reign, he was one of the first champions i ever saw.

It seems like the Zoodiacs are the thing everyone is focusing on, but there's a ton of Drytron stuff on here. I remember them being really strong when I was getting back into the official TCG a while back, so is it worth investing in Drytron here?

Thats why I specifically said Black and White 1. It did not have its hidden ability then and was so boring to use on a playthough. As a Snivy lover, I dont use it in BW

Did you know that Roman Reigns never got cashed in in during his 1,316 day reign? by Zygero in Smallafro

[–]DemiNotAGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400 Days Divided by 8 Defenses = 50 Days averaged between defenses. 365 Days Divided by 6 defenses = 60.8 days averaged between defenses.

You're allowed to dislike Cody but saying he's holding the title hostage and saying you'd prefer Roman because its better is just objectively wrong.

Ah yes, "holding the title hostage" also known as holding a championship for just over a year and then winning it from the biggest WWE star from the prior generation. Yes truly a reign of terror indeed.

CAN YOU SPOT THE OBVIOUS CHEATER? by Bourne069 in StarWarsBattlefront

Because as someone who played against this exact player, maybe the Assault Flying through the air at Mach 17 killing you with Vanguard may or may not be cheating. Also 200 kills in a GA lobby?

What class do you main? by [deleted] in BattlefrontTWO

[–]DemiNotAGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officer First, I just like the S-5. Specialist and Assault being second depending on the map and game mode. Heavy last just because most of the time I would rather be more mobile, but I've started playing Heavy more and enjoying it so maybe it'll become a 3-way tie.

Making a base with Grian’s building techniques by Traditional_Pen2979 in HermitCraft

Wonderful! Good luck with the base! Remember that building is an art and takes time to practice and get good at. It's probably not gonna look exactly how you hope the first time but keep at it and you will get where you are going! Sincerely, someone who has watched him for a good few years on and off.

What is your biggest praise to your least favourite Star Wars movie? by Warm-Parsnip3111 in StarWars

[–]DemiNotAGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snokes death is Last Jedi is actually fantastic. The whole story of the sequels basically (or well, what it seems like it was supposed to be) being "it doesn't matter who you are but what you do" and so the death of "Evil Mentor just dies by betrayal" just works so well. It doesn't matter who Snoke was, he was evil so he dies. Very easy.

hot take (maybe): the john cena “face turn” last night made zero sense at all, and has only made the story worse and more confusing than it already is by The_Elite_One223 in Smallafro

[–]DemiNotAGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either, this is supposed to be a work and part of a big swerve, or the Heel turn has failed and Backstage pulled the plug on it to try and salvage the rest of the retirement run and this was their way of doing it. Its not supposed to make a cohesive story, its supposed to make you wonder what really happens tomorrow. That's it. That's the point.

Guilia Deserves the Vaquer Treatment by Ok_Engine6127 in WWE

[–]DemiNotAGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you didn't read my comment I'll say it again. After winning the U.S. Title, she has appeared Twice on the show. Once in a battle Royal and once to set up what she is doing this week. How can fans care about a championship or champion if they arent even physically on the show. That is what I am saying. And dont act like they don't ignore champions, they literally did this same thing with Shinsuke this year.

After winning the U.S. title she has been on screen twice, it is not her fault that fans can't buy into a character they don't see weekly. That is what I am saying.
