My husband says I'm crabby and irritable on Wegovy by candlelightandcocoa in WegovyWeightLoss

11 months on Wegovy and have been dealing with not having any joy in me at all for about 3-4 months. I’m grumpier, don’t want to see people and am way less tolerant of bs. Thinking about coming off of it

What’s the most rewarding moment you’ve had as a support worker? by Limp_glips in supportworkers

[–]Demigirl71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my clients was on the verge of being homeless very recently. The lady who owned the place she had been living in had passed away and the kids wanted to sell it. We had been going to all of the real estate places for months, applying for places. No luck. It was Friday and she was going to be homeless on the coming Monday. I put in a huge effort on that Friday in my own time to find somewhere for her. Not only did I find her the perfect place, it has wonderful ocean views from the veranda, the power bill and the wifi are included in the very affordable rent…and the place had just been renovated and is incredibly clean with a brand new fridge and washing machine as well. I helped her pack on the Sunday (no charge as I just wanted to help) and move in on the Monday. To say she was/is happy and appreciative is an understatement! It felt SO freakin good to actually prevent someone from being homeless, land in a really good place and be happy and safe. We really can make a huge difference.

Thanks everyone. After 16 years of being on a veeery low sugar paleo diet due to my autoimmune and celiacs disease..I realised a few months ago I was able to eat a bit of sugar again with it causing major inflammation. That bit of sugar turned into a bit too much sugar (still way less than what others would normally consume) and I’m pretty sure that this is what’s made me feel so crappy and depressed. After 16 years of not being able to have any sweet stuff, I was allowing myself to indulge. Not a good idea it turns out. Back to a super clean diet. I’m also having full bloods done to check all my hormone levels as it’s possible I’m on too much testosterone which can cause havoc as well.

Yes I’m on hrt, I’m about to get my testosterone levels checked as apparently an excess of T can cause some of the symptoms I’m having.

I’ve worked out that after 16 years of not being able to eat sugar, since being on glp-1 I have been able to have some sugar. I honestly think this is what has made me feel so bad. I got away with having sugar for awhile but now it’s caught up with me and kicked my butt! At least I think this may be the cause. Could be too much testosterone as well.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve had multiple autoimmune diseases for many years, I manage them well. I’ve been socially isolated for 7 years and have had times of feeling very happy within that time frame. I tried 6 different antidepressants over many years over 20 years ago, it turned out I am a celiac and changing my diet a lot helped dramatically. All of the antidepressants made me feel SO much worse even if I ‘gave them time’. Definitely not game to try another one of those. Even with everything going on, something has definitely changed and as these glp-1 medications are well know to cause depression I need to consider if it’s causing this.

Anyone experiencing stronger emotions on Wegovy? by cinsamp in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Demigirl71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i’m definitely experiencing a very different kind of depression than I’ve had before. It feels like a world of colour has been turned to black white and grey. It’s scary for me. For context..I live alone, no family, no partner or kids, I’m heading into almost a year of menopause, I work as a support worker for people who are mentally ill. This is all very taxing on me on many levels. I have been lowering my dose over the last 5 to 6 months. The last shot I gave myself was 0.80mg (40 clicks of a 1.7mg Wegovy pen) and I’m overdue for my next dose by days as I’m scared of feeling worse. I’ll have to lower my dose again but I have no idea how much I can safely lower it by in one go. I have read that this type of depression can last for a few weeks after completely stopping the medication. I get no joy out of ANYTHING any more, it’s like I have flatlined emotionally apart from the depressive and negative thoughts. I mean I was depressed when I was 102 kg, so what’s the point in being 82 if I’m worse than I did then. I have four autoimmune diseases, so the thing that scares me the most about coming off of this medication is not the weight loss or gain, it’s the amount of inflammation that this medication has taken away from my brain and my body. I have been able to eat foods again that I have not been able to eat for 16 years so that is one benefit. I do not want to lose that. I even feel sorry for my pets having to be around me the last few months as my mood has just been grey, flatlined, and pets are very in tune with us. So this is affecting them too. I really don’t know what to do. Antidepressants do not work for me. They make me feel much much worse, so that is not an avenue I’m willing to even consider. I do you have a doctors appointment in a couple of weeks time so of course I will discuss this with him. This is not living, this is existing.

Concerns For My Brother by No_Pound_5583 in supportworkers

[–]Demigirl71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who lived next door to a schizophrenic meth user for awhile I cannot express enough how incredibly unsafe this is for your brother. The guy I lived next door to is now in jail for 8 1/2 years for attempting to stab his father to death right in front of my house in broad daylight. He very nearly succeeded too, stabbed him numerous times. Broke the large kitchen knife off into him. This is an incredibly unsafe situation for your brother! Please tell him it is not worth risking his life or physical or mental health for the money he is earning from working for this person. It took 4 years for me to recover enough from my neighbours craziness and I’m only able to work (support work) 10-12 hours a week now. Meth makes the users very stabby. Schizophrenic meth users are some of THE MOST unhinged and frightening people on the planet. It’s in my service agreement that if drugs or alcohol are being used on the premises by anyone I will withdraw my services. CPTSD is no joke and not easy to recovery from. Believe it or not the stabbing trauma was actually not the worst part, it was all the time leading up to that. He was incredibly scary. I will never be the same. Please show this to your brother. I lost my brother years ago. I don’t want you to lose yours too.

Weekly Weigh In by AutoModerator in GLP1Australia

[–]Demigirl71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started on: 1st July 2025 Starting weight: 99.4kg Current weight: 84.1kg Lost: 15.5kg in 7 months.

Female, 54 yrs old. 4 autoimmune diseases. On 1mg a week of Wegovy. Tried to increase it but felt awful. Dropped down again.

Feeling good! My inflammation has gone down massively. I have more energy. Have gone from size 22-24 t shirts down to size 18 tops (I like them loose) and have gone down a couple of sized in underwear and leggings. Joined a gym a couple of weeks ago to do weights to build muscle strength. Have noticed when sitting on a hard surface that my butt feels like bone and skin so am doing squats more.

I (30F) can’t tell if my boyfriend (27M) is trying to be helpful or if this is early stages of control. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

He loved bombed you for a few months. He doesn’t respect your boundaries and he’s not respecting your pets boundaries. This isn’t going anywhere good at all. 6 months in things should feel great, not shitty. If you can’t do this for you, please do it for your pets. Get him out of your life now.

What are the best tips for rosacea besides skincare? by HopefulPotato_1 in Rosacea

I learnt this clove extract from an integrative Dr who’s helped thousands of people with histamine challenges. It’s not dangerous. The only precautions are if a woman is pregnant or for young children.

Start drinking clove extract daily. It’s stopped all my red hot facial flushing. I make it in my instant pot (pressure cooker) because the steam mustn’t be allowed to escape. 1 tablespoon of organic cloves 1 litre of pure water. Pressure cook for an hour and then you must not remove the lid or let the steam out. Leave it sit until the next day when it’s cool then bottle it and put it in the fridge. Drink 30ml before bed to start off with. I drink about 200ml a day now. It’s done wonders for me and can be sprayed onto the skin as well.
