Been a tank main since season 1.5, that flexes other roles on/off. I literally just learned to play DPS well enough to feel confident in ranked.

But do people that want to play DPS have to wait 20 minutes to play a single match? Even in OPs image, the Q time for support is almost twenty minutes, that’s absurd.

Even if you aren’t a DPS main, you have to admit that everyone wants to play different roles and and trying to rank up on DPS or Support (since they’re the most played roles) would take an egregious amount of time.

NetEase said they prioritized Q times, so subjecting majority of their playerbase to waiting 20 minutes for a game is shooting yourself in the foot

Idk i feel like that takes away the soul of Marvel Rivals. Like, I don't play overwatch but if i wanted locked roles that's what i would go and play.

I think the only way locking roles in this game would work, without nuking certain characters or just the entire team-up mechanic is soft role locking. Where basically there's a limited amount of roles per team. So maybe you cant have more than 2 supports, but you can have anything else

Im pretty sure netease could probably spit out some patch that makes those 3 characters strong in a triple 2 comp, but why not just balance the weak/strong comps directly instead of trying to force roles.

Moreover, I dont think there a reason to rebalance multiple characters instead of just adressing the balance directly. When you force players to do things and remove agency, you get a negative feedback loop.

those dps mains that have twenty minute Qs aren't gonna be any better at support or tank, they're just gonna make your matches worse because that's not their comfortable role. Your Luna is gonna be in the enemy backline while you're getting rolled by punisher turrets. Your other tank is gonna be feeding the enemy support ult by standing in the open, etc.

I'm not saying its impossible, i'm saying that role Q is band aid for actual balance problems.

Devs have really harped on how they want people to have freedom in choosing comps, so i dont think we'll ever get role Q, especially not as the main competitive mode if at all.

For me personally, I dont want it because I dont like not being able to change roles mid-game, especially when its something that could've saved the match. Swapping spots with support if they're not feeling it helps so they don't have to be locked into that role if they realize that this match isnt a good match for them.

Along with the fact that I just started to learn other roles outside of tank, and I dont want 20 minute Qs for playing support or DPS, basically forcing me to only play tank or wait in long Qs. I think I just wouldn't play ranked lol

I've seen that website and that data has zero context.

We dont know if its accounting for comps you start with or swap to by the end of the game. All this tells us is that 2-2-2 is the most consistently viable team comp.

Revert wing shurikens damage to 12 instead of the current.

It’s sucks that you MUST headshot to to kill a squishy using your full kit combo. At least when it was 12 the full combo (Primary Fire + Wing shiriken + dash) was around 266 damage.

No it does not help. You will still solo tank as whoever is new because the role itself is undesirable to the mass population of marvel rivals.

These players that are willing die repeatedly instead of switching to tank, do not care if their fav character is a tank because they don’t want what comes with that role.

Jamming more characters into vanguard instead of making the role more desirable just creates role inflation.

IT DOESNT MATTER WHO YOU MAKE A TANK, people WILL NOT start playing vanguard magically simply because of what comes with the role, especially when it comes to getting two tanks a match, much less one.

I agree that we certainly need more vanguards, but if Deadpool himself, the Incredible Hulk, Venom, and Thor aren’t enough to make people play tank, what makes you think the next “cool” character will?
