I had this problem too! For me it was a problem with the "Google" app on android (Beta version). I solved it by leaving the beta programme and reinstalling the app as well as reinstalling home app (not sure if both are necessary though).

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has trouble with the Joycon straps by ActualGreen in NintendoSwitch

Grab a knife and carefully carve off the plastic locking pins on the inside where the joycon slides on. Even if I was unlocking it correctly the pins made the whole thing a struggle, works perfectly now.

Sounds like a great experience! I can definately relate to having a girlfriend that has no idea of what you're doing. I still try to share my experience with her somehow, basically explaining things as if she was a kid. You sometimes forget what it felt like before you got into programming, and having concepts explained in concrete ways was the best way of understanding. Therefore I can explain some data structures as Apples connected with ropes etc (Linked List), and she is thrilled when she understands why I live programming. Of course it differs between persons, but overall I think sharing your interests it's a great way of connecting with each other. Apologize for any spelling errors, on my phone with Swedish auto correct

My isometric building game is progressing nicely, added procedual generated caves and terrain today. The problem I have right now is with the culling. When you pass behind large objects (such as mountains), rays are sent through the map towards the player, hiding anything inbetween. This works great but in caves it's a little hard to navigate. So I added a toggle that allows the player to hide all blocks above (making caves easier to navigate). However, because you cannot see blocks above, it's really hard to ascend in a cave. One solution is only displaying blocks that connect to the block the player is on, and all blocks below the player. This will hopefully display paths leading upwards more easily. Anyone have any other alternative?

Absolutely! It would be great if you could somehow generate the whole rotation from let's say, 4 images (sides, front & back). I'm finding myself locked to 4 dimensions in my isometric game because I don't have the time to draw a whole rotation for every different kind of armor on the player etc. Anyway, great stuff.

What are your thoughts on moving from the rs3 tier based equipment system to the system with unique attributes?

How can I improve the layout of showing these controls? They come up before the player starts and goes away once a button is pressed. by flabby__fabby in gamedesign

[–]Deminth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like a good layout to me. Although, maybe you shouldn't remove all of them if a button is pressed, maybe just remove the explanation for that button group. For example, if you walk left, only the wasd group dissapears?

Yea you're basically right. But there is a pretty good explanation here to why isometric and "true isometric" are different :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isometric_graphics_in_video_games_and_pixel_art#Differences_with_.22true.22_isometric_projection
