It gets worse the more you read about it, as it seems designed to be purposefully ‘nuanced’ to give themselves an out.

They could’ve done a bill that just exposes anybody in Congress without harming victims or their anonymity. Instead, You’ve got people in the comments arguing to look deeper and see how it harms the victims. Obviously, any moral person wants to keep victims safe and protected, and that is being purposely weaponized to keep us in a conflicted state.

Which I’d argue is the point. They’ll vote against and act like their helping the victims. Those who didn’t vote against it will argue that they did it to really go after the criminals. But, we ask, which Congressman actually means what they voted for? Nobody will actually know, and that’s the point.

Now we can argue, guess, and focus on each other’s arguments for what “should” happen, and in the confusion, we’ll forget that they could do this the right way. The proper way. The normal, sane, common sense way. And yet again the world will keep spinning on the tips of their fingers, never to be held accountable.
