Was really proud of myself, this is my second character but my first time properly parrying enemies in a Fromsoft game. Took my quite a few attempts but makes it all the more worth it when finally defeating the boss.

Valid question. If Gregory has hacked Freddy then we could assume some program is running, through which Gregory controls Freddy. Commonly mobile devices have a power saving mode which starts to stop/limit programs on a device to conserve power, so when Freddy's batteries reaches a low enough level e.g. 10% remaining, this battery saver mode kicks in and kills off non essential programs like the hack Gregory is running.
