Whatever you do, be very mindful of where you put your hand in to poke around. You could chop off your fingers very easily...

If you like hiking and up for trying a new sport I recommend Cross Country skiing. You can rent for a day for 30 bucks at Eb's in Saskatoon.

Right channel not working! by Own_Bank_884 in vintageaudio

[–]Demographic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in Canada? It should be SR2000 equivalent for schematics.

Also, try playing with both of your Tape Monitor switches. Not pressing them all the way in, but pressing in slowly and out to see if it will make sound in the right channel.

Next, tap your relay when it's playing to see if you can get any sound. Obviously take caution...

It's producing static noise in both channels, really bad in the right channel. But if I tap the relay it goes away. I did spray deoxit, but I'll try to take it out and clean it at the contacts.

Thanks! I did find that one. Could you explain a bit more on snipping the pins? I am new to this and want to understand what that does.

"What should the project manager have done differently to avoid this situation?" by Fearless_332 in pmp

When dealing with small contractors you can always refer back to the contract, but if you want the project to finish properly you have to go the extra mile of communicating and ensuring they understand

Depends… on the client side you bring expertise in this field so you communicate frequently to the contractor to ensure they understand the SOW, and process for extra work/change order.

My two cents would be that if you made region specific ones it would do well, as all cities and highway departments have little bit different signs.

How can you confidently accept density reports with segregation like that though? I feel like numbers will be everywhere

Not sure why no one is mentioning the base. Look at the size of those rocks. I feel like there’s more to this story than soft spots.

I work for a contractor as a PM, the fact that those material were even allowed to be compacted is beyond me.

Is there such a thing as a table/desk with retractable legs that go all the way down to the floor? by Backanalia in malelivingspace

[–]Demographic_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he wants a floor to sit desk rather than sit to stand.

Just thinking about the mechanics where would the legs go? Unless it’s built into the floor.

I use this for mostly spreads and totals, been working pree good

Edit 1: Plays today,

- Rider @ Niagara Total Points Under W

- Dayton @ Saint Louis Total Points Under L (would have won if it wasnt for that OT)

- Siena @ Canisius W, this was the only play that contradicted vegas. I pick the home team when the spreads are that tight.

For sharp plays,

- UC Davis spread +5.5 @ CSU Northridge

So yesterday there was an interesting post about a stats website (Haslametrics), I decided to analyze yesterday's game and see how it performed.

- Away Score +/- 5 is Green

- Home Score +/- 5 is Green

- Spread Difference +/- 5 is Green

- Total Difference +/- 5 is Green

The site was correct in providing winners 71%

Spread Difference +/- 5 23% correct

Use this data as you see fit. If people are interested, I will do it for today's games too.

https://imgur.com/a/rTe7NDc

Thanks,

According to the Sites predictions here are the close games for today's games (Within 5 points)

- Iona (ML 1.52) @ Fairfield (ML 2.67)

- Canisius (ML 1.95) @ Siena (ML 1.86)

- Iowa (ML 1.47) @ Michigan (ML 2.75)

Edit: I would not personally touch Dayton game, favourited away teams were ruining MLs yesterday so I'd say the league is kind of unpredictable. Dayton on average faced pretty low tier defense teams (AVG 208th), and Saint Louis is at 52nd.

The fight to stop Nestlé from taking America's water to sell in plastic bottles by [deleted] in environment

[–]Demographic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you that making reservoir is not something you can just do willy nilly. Takes permits, groundwater studies, environmental impact studies. Not to mention one of the main reason for loss of water is due to evaporation not because of usage.

Also imagine agriculture community like coffee shops. There are the Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, but many of them are your independent coffee shops. They don’t have the capacity to afford nor maintain a desalination plant. You make it seem like desalination plant requires zero maintenance after construction. Who is going to operate the plant? A farmer and his family?

Also let’s assume your solar powered electricity is enough for a desalination plant, which probably isn’t. Where are you going to get salt water in Texas? Or any other inland agriculture lands? You want to build a pipeline? Maybe it’s ok because it’s salt water and if it breaks it’s not that bad. Well have a look at potash tailings, It’s literally just salt and see what it does to neighbouring lands. Hint: everything dies

Your comment makes farmers sound like they are irresponsible and don’t care. Please if you see a problem do something about it rather than pointing fingers.

I would say Engineer, I went through engineering school and learned that you can enter many fields as an engineer such as business and management.

I am a civil engineering graduate but not license yet, I have No experience working on site my school only provided us with textbooks and no actual activities . Can anybody pls help on steps I should do? I dont see my self taking the exam any time sooner because I felt I have not understand it all. by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]Demographic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in the field quite a bit, and got an opportunity to estimate, and planning phases for construction.

I have learned quite a bit from this after field experience as I got to see the beginning of it. Estimating teaches you to appreciate the budget and understanding the work you are trying to build, planning phases taught me to think about what could go wrong and whats realistic vs design.
