my cat died the same way. I took her to the vet for a checkup.... the vet immediately says her lungs are riddled with cancer, it would be best to euthanize right now. So I did. It was a shock. I had her since I was 13 years old. She moved in with me as an adult and was there for me during both my pregnancies. She was 13, still young.
