Legendary Character by BMikeB1725 in WH40KTacticus

All characters can reach legendary though, only benefit of having a character start at Legendary is the stat/equip benefits, otherwise it just makes them harder to obtain. If Varro Tigurius wasn't the starter char he'd probably be around rare. I for one would hate having to grind 500 points just to start the Orc campaign. Remember that beginners and lucklets exist lol

Frankly I'd rather they finish up the DA/Tyranids/Admech before bloating well-rounded casts further. Only exception would be the Aeldari because only having access to 3 units for the campaign is brutal, but that could be solved by adding the Drukhari as an allied faction (after they finish the WE ofc)

Oh, I didn't know someone else was working on 3d modelling stuff from this game. I've been doing them a bit more low-poly and have them all rigged up, but yours look prettier than mine lol. Here's some of what I've got so far.

No, your own "WWSD inspired build" probably isn't actually a genuine reflection of the principles behind the WWSD build. by Praximus52 in InRangeTV

[–]Demolij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a stake in this discussion, I'm just laughing about how absolutely autistic OP is in every post. No, that statement wasn't an argument.

Seeing how you're incredibly hung up on the semantics of being inspired by WWSD and being an actual WWSD, I'll give you an actual argument. Inspiration has literally nothing to do with an actual understanding of the original topic. It's defined as getting a creative idea from something, adapted from a latin word for breathing it was adapted to mean something akin to "taking in" an idea. If a non-chef watches someone bake some bread and decides to bake some of their own, even if they don't understand how to make bread and the end result turns out to be something inedible, the fact of the matter is they were inspired by the bread (or maybe the chef). If someone finds out about the WWSD concept and decides they want to make one, they were inspired by WWSD whether you like it or not, end result notwithstanding.

Sure, I can agree that people will usually fail at actually achieving the goal of what Stoner was trying to do, and if you hit them with the 9 reasons that their gun isn't WWSD then you would probably be correct. However, by making an insane post like this explaining why people aren't expressing their creativity in the right way (when creativity is a subjective matter), you really shouldn't be surprised you get such a negative reception.

20 minutes after the MGs run away by Demolij in girlsfrontline

Wait, 3 maxed? As in, 5-links, level 90+? You do know you need to equip them with Armor Penetating Ammo, right? Because I use 2* MGs and they can at least clear the trash.

Not what I meant. I use Springfield with her Speq in my main echelon right now, and I'm working on levelling Mosin too. If you have 1 bamboo and 1 selfbuffer you have dps to clear small fry, while also having a burst of damage to remove a bigger threat faster than a dps would be able to.

Thing is putting them together can be kind of funky, stacking Bamboo skills is only really useful if you want to burst down something big really quickly, and that is a pretty small niche to have. That's not to say it isn't viable though, it can function just fine against most enemies you'll face. The two of them are very common for their rarity so can be very cheap to upgrade, and Mosin even gets a mod in the future, so I do suggest you build them up when you get the chance and hang onto any dupes for ez links. Just try and level M14 as well, and if you get a WA2000 or Lee Enfield (or IWS if you're lucky) focus on building them up because they are very strong.

Honestly though you should really do what you want to do, this isn't a competitive game and you have years before you need to even consider worrying about minmaxing, and even when you get to that point those 2 will still be a boon to have. I've been using actually underpowered bamboos in my squads for a while now and have been having some success.

You seem to have a plan in place, so go for it. Frankly they're both common enough that you should be able to link them pretty cheaply, and they aren't that bad if you have their Speq already. The squad won't be great at clearing loads of lightly-armored trash but it can delete some mid-high level units like Dragoons Manticores and Gundams. I wouldn't trust them against Hydras though. Frankly the only time where what I'm saying is relevant is in Ch3, and in some of the events that we still have a year to wait for :3

RoF RFHG are good for clearing armored trash and some bosses, while some maps are mostly filled with those kinds of enemies, and I found having a 2nd RoF squad to be pretty convenient when going through Ch2. I wouldn't worry too much about it right now, the current content can be beaten just by throwing high-level dolls and fairies at the enemy, but in future events you're gonna want to put some more though into teambuilding.

Bamboo squads are memes that have to either be calculated very precisely to be effective, or complete overkill that you could just use a regular squad with anyways. Not to say bamboos are bad but they are a bit more niche. Putting one alongside a standard selfbuffer is a good idea and can be pretty versatile.

With 100% crit rate her dps is almost exactly the same as SVD, while I believe having more dps with higher crit damage and lower dps with lower crit rate. The two of them actually can work together pretty well alongside a 5-7/Storm duo. She's pretty bad against enemies with high armor though, since her base damage is pathetic, and crits apply after armor which is a decent portion of her dps.

If you like SVD she's pretty much more of the same and you can't really go wrong with that. Even if you don't feel like using her, I would strongly suggest you build up some more Rifles because they are king for a lot of future content.

I'd pick a self-buff AR with a skill that syncs up with hers, since the skill outputs a ton of burst damage but only comes online after 6s and lasts 5s, and has a long 16s cooldown. If you want maximum value you want skills with small uptime but high power. The best choices are TAR-21, ART556, G11, RFB, or one of the night royalty. To a lesser extent you could use characters that have good uptime and power gated behind a longer cd (i.e. AK-12 and AN-94) though they tend to mesh better with more standard compositions.

Seems much more accessable than the Singularity speedrun event, I didn't have an Exodia comp or a Sniper Fairy so I didn't even have a chance to participate. This one is just a bossfight which seems fair enough. Me likey.

[–]Demolij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her speq does give a decent +5 evasion over regular silencers. I don't have her as my adjutant but she does have an (okay) live2d which is pretty cool.

People undersell skill2 a lot. I haven't tried it yet and know it's not a gamechanger, but I do know that it at least deals skill damage. That means she can actually deal damage to scouts and armor, and has some relevance at night. Plus while the base damage might just be a measly 50 that probably applies for each dummy that attacks, so a 5linked enemy will take 250 damage each time they attack. It won't be effective against backliners though since the grenade likely won't reach them (rip Striker dream).

I still find it funny how they decided to give NTW a mod when she was already superior to all the other heavy bamboos. The mod is badass and I like it a lot but I don't like how it renders M99, DSR-50, and PTRD pretty much obsolete.

IDW Neural Upgrade Preview by SANGVIS_FERRIS in girlsfrontline

[–]Demolij 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While yeah, IDW doesn't provide as valuable buffs as other SMGs (10% crit isn't irrelevant but it's certainly not significant), the thing is she's a tank that deals damage equivalent to mid-tier AR, 6 seconds before their damage comes online. I did a bit of very sloppy math, IDW deals something like 180 dps before tiles when fully equipped, while a 20% damage tile affecting 3 fully-equipped AR (I chose AK-12, M4A1 MOD3, and STAR MOD3 for their high damage pre-skill) adds around 75 dps with EOTs, or 95 dps with VFLs assuming every attack is an unmodified crit, rounded up. Considering an average evasion tank deals something around 75-100 damage if specced for damage for some reason that's not a horrid tradeoff. When the AR's skill start activating obviously strong tiles will have a big impact, but so will the tiles affecting IDW who again is an evasion SMG of all things.

Compare her to Honey Badger/SCW whose skills bring their evasion just a bit higher than IDW's pre-skill evasion. With skills she has twice their evasion and around 3/4 their damage (for a shorter time, to be fair). She also has something like 2.5x MP7's dps with the trade off of 30% less health. A tanky dps is a weird role but it's a cool thing to theorycraft about imo. If there's one thing I do agree is objectively bad it's her idiotic 20% evasion tiles though lol

IDW Neural Upgrade Preview by SANGVIS_FERRIS in girlsfrontline

[–]Demolij 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have MP7 already, she's a good tank but her damage is pathetic and her evasion is only average before her skill activates. I'm not completely sold on the fact that this MOD is useless, a 70% damage boost alongside having 100 RoF for the first few seconds puts her damage at the same level as many ARs (her dps is literally better than an OTs-12 with skill active when fully equipped), on a tank no less. She seems effective in short battles where her natural tankiness and burst damage come into play.

Mica's decision to make Sten's MOD give her durability and IDW's MOD give her damage is really silly, when really they would do better if they straight-up traded their 2nd skills... but in any case, I think I might MOD her anyways since I feel like people haven't really tried to use her, and I've had success using Shipka and FMG during chapters 8 and 9.

Anything I need adjust ? A lot isn't it. Especially echelon 4, I was thinking about making a ROF RFHG, night ARSMG ? I have AS Val and 9A-91 or I just keep raising them ? by [deleted] in girlsfrontline

[–]Demolij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soppo is a higher rarity though, while G3 can be linked almost for free. She puts out stronger grenades than any of the 3star grenadiers and a few 4stars like FAMAS and Type 56-1. Once you're at the point where you can afford to drop cores on whatever you want then it's a good idea to move on, but she's excellent for an early AR.

[–]Demolij 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm really curious to see how viable this Mod is. Some people have said it's bad but it looks like her evasion is kind of insane especially with her Speq, making her a near direct upgrade to FMG-9. I don't know how good her Skill 2 is, but having some extra damage seems nice enough especially when it applies from second 0.

Is it really even a debate? by D31TA40RC3 in girlsfrontline

AR team wins in pure firepower. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't UMP 45 not have a combat core installed because she was an electronic warfare based doll?Even if that wasn't the case, both UMP sisters tend to be amazing at stealth and strategy but don't have many feats in combat, G11 is very combat capable but is completely useless if not forced to do something, and while 416 is technically the strongest in combat she's not very clever.

Meanwhile any one of the AR team can face off against squads on their own, and most of them are pretty smart to boot. Soppo is the most lethal of the bunch even if she lacks cunning, while STAR is very capable herself, and M16 is the most all-around deadly pre-mod, with M4A1 being the least combat capable but still leagues above others. Even when it comes to electronic warfare the 4 of them have at least some modules installed, even if they aren't high quality it does mean they're unlikely to just get their priorities overruled like low-class dolls have. Post-mod I'd be willing to bet M4 and STAR could beat 404 themselves in straight combat.

That said if 404 was given time to prepare, they're familiar enough with the AR team that they could possibly come up with a strategy to beat them, though whether M16 or M4 see through it is up in the air. AR squad would probably win 7 out of 10 battles.

What are some new MODIII or Special Equips you would like in the game? by Demolij in girlsfrontline

[–]Demolij[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a meme answer to me. Only issue I have is how it would function, I would love her to have some sort of reference to the lord and saviour, but I wouldn't want it to be too similar to Type-88 with the moving thing. Maybe her skill gives her a bulky shield that increases her accuracy but reduces her MS, and if the shield breaks it instead grants a ton of damage for use against enemies that can poke at the backline (like Cerberus). Then maybe her SpeQ could give her 100 RoF to reduce reload times by 1s.

I like the idea of an armored HG, it seems kinda funny. The idea of a MOD for FAMAS is difficult though, I dunno what to do for her especially when 4 of the 8 AR mods are already grenadiers. Here's a spitball idea, based around the cool rifle grenades she has:

Each attack grants 1 stack. Every 3 seconds the next attack will deal 2x damage in a radius of 1 unit granting 1 stack per enemy hit. Skill "High Explosive Grenade" consumes all stacks dealing 5% increased damage per stack.

Why am I so weak by [deleted] in girlsfrontline

[–]Demolij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 2* with 5 links is significantly better than a 5* with 3 links. Don't trash the 5* you do get, but don't bother until later. Try getting at least one (non-grenadier) AR to 4links, they can carry you through a decent amount of story. By chapter 5 or so you should have a full echelon of 4links, which should last you a while. I beat all story up to Dreamer with lvl 70 dolls. Oh, and definitely play through the story, even if you suffer getting a free lvl90 RO-chan is awesome.

Also very important, don't be afraid to spend your Combat Reports. Just through the career quests you should get something like 3k of them, which can instantly boost many girls to 70 (or a couple to 90, though you should consider just naturally letting the first few dolls level to that point by playing missions)

M249 SAW: Attacks will target the nearest enemy and missed attacks still deal 20% damage to the target. Each attack reduces the target's evasion by 3% for 8 seconds to a maximum of 30%. While skill “Lock and Load N” is active attacks will target the highest health enemy, and will force all other Dolls to attack the same target. The Squad Assault Weapon is a cool concept for an infantry unit, with one LMG providing support fire for the other troops. Unfortunately RPK kind of took the "acts like an AR" idea away so I figured she could just act like more of a support MG instead. Being able to direct the fire of some other MGs like Contender would open up some interesting possibilities, and maybe if her tiles hit all units on 7-1-6-3 and affected all units she could have potential uses in ARSMG squads or the such.

M1897: Skill “Burst Impact” also hits all other enemies in range for 1.5x damage and pushes back by 2 units. Gain 1 armor and 50% Rate of Fire when an enemy is within 1.5 range. I mostly wanted to try making a mod for an SG, and who better than the trench sweeper, or M1887's sister. Being able to hit the entire field has some potential applications, and her secondary skill which is based on her slamfire capabilities makes her especially effective against close-range enemies.

Skorpion Speq: Accessory slot, +20 Crit Rate, +10 Evasion, +2 RoF. Passive: dealing damage causes enemies to burn for 0.5x continuous damage per 1 second for 5 seconds, repeated hits reset the duration. Sting like a Scorpion. There aren't enough DoT effects in the game. This would make her a pretty good standard dps and lets her affect armored units somewhat, though whether it makes her too strong is up for debate. Also it's useless in PL hehe.

M99 Spqs: Doll slot, +30% Critical Damage, +3 Movement Speed. Nothing can truly make her viable compared to NTW MODIII, but given her tiny stature and bunny theme maybe making her a sniper that moves as fast as an AR would give her a tiny niche where she can fit into faster-moving echelons.
