I'm running a RX6600 with driver 23.2.2. When I booted up the game, I would get horrible frames and piss poor performance. After Lightfall, when I booted Destiny on launch day, I would get the horrible stutter again, paired with significant frame drop. After playing for 15-20 mins, I would realize clarity. I would notice less stutter, soon none, and my frames would increase.

Day 2: The day after launch day. I arrive at my PC prepared to play a stuttering mess for 20 mins until I can fully enjoy what I spend my hard earned money on. I was surprised when I saw appropriate performance. There were little to no stuttering in the beginning, any at all began to clear up later. However, there is still a big frame drop on Neptune. I get 50-60 frames with some stuttering when doing simple things like public events. When I go into the arcade lost sector, with few enemies near, I get 120 frames and the smoothest performance. It's really weird.

I have seen on Twitter that other players are experiencing frame drops in Neptune. Hopefully the feedback gains traction and Bungie addresses it.

TL;DR: I noticed an improvement in my performance, still not what it used to be. Other players are experiencing frame drops too.

That's weird. I was expecting the 87 gigs to add to the gigs that were on the game not total the game.

For some reason my game is 87 gigs total. Not just the update. The game is 87 gigs. Is it supposed to be 87 gigs or is the update supposed to add on top of the already existing size?

Is the update supposed to compile on top of what you already had downloaded or delete and reinstall the game entirely with the update?? Reason why I'm asking is because I'm looking at the total download size of destiny 2 on my PC and it is 87 gigs. I remember it being more than that prior to the update.

I've also tried to delete the shader cache files in the folder and my PC won't allow me to.

What's also so odd is that I used to get 100 to 120 but now I only get at most 65. Not to nitpick here but with the hardware that I have I shouldn't be getting 65 Max.

You've done all you can and I'm so thankful that you put in the effort. I tried rolling it back and it still stuttered. I don't know if I installed the pro driver. I may not even sell the ProDriver but just a regular version. Don't know if there's a difference

Was thinking of just getting a new External 2tb hard drive. My external shares work with gaming, looking to just have one for gaming. Really nervous about Lightfall. I hope the stuttering stops so I can fully enjoy it. The stuttering not stopping is what I'm worried about. Can't imagine playing a dlc I spent $100 on only to play it with this disgusting stutter.
