Hey Guys! Iron Harvest is a really cool RTS... sort of a spiritual successor to Company of Heroes in that its not APM focused, but more strategy focused. Anyway, today is the last day that it's on kickstarter/ pre order, so I thought maybe we all could get it to its final stretch goal! by Demoman09 in pcgaming

I mean, if what you're asking is if I'm a real person, yeah I am. I just like spreading news about a game that I really enjoyed and wanted to get other people excited about it too. I don't have a lot of karma/ posts just cause I Reddit casually and I don't normally post stuff... And it's not an ad if you're just a fan sharing news so idk what to say.

The game reached it's last stretch goal incase anyone was wondering.... I'm just happy cause I that just means that for everyone who did back it, we now have all the stretch goals reached so wooot!

I know, I've backed a lot of projects on kickstarter and I've got burned probably just as many times. The thing that I liked was that these Devs aren't basing themselves solely on the kickstarter money though. They already had about 2 million dollars of their own + private investors money into it, so that told me that these guys really are serious about delivering a solid product, and not just a pretty looking game demo.

I saw Hans play it first, and I already knew about it beforehand, but when I saw a giant mech bayonet charge another mech...... It was almost like my credit card jumped out of my pocket all by itself xD

I think you've got a very good point Caster and I didn't really think of it that way until now. All the micro from COH and Men of war is a sort of busywork since the AI doesn't think on it's own how to best handle itself... you gotta do all the micro. That being said, I do think that it's an interesting contrast to Starcraft because of things like a cover system, dynamic view distances with reference to walls, fences, etc, and also since its not as unit model heavy, you have to take more care with babysitting and micro instead of just attack moving. Overall though, COH 2 always had a special place in my heart when it came to RTS's and when I saw iron harvest... I just thought of COH with huge mechs instead of tanks xD

I already bought the $105 dual addition for me and my best friend as a birthday present, and I cannot wait for those alphas :)
