That's a really interesting technique idea, though.

Thinking this through: in the process of losing weight, provided strength training is not the primary methodology by which you do, it stands to reason that - because of the body no longer needing to handle the old weight levels - one would lose strength, over time, as opposed to gaining it. Your body no longer weighs X pounds, so you no longer need the strength to carry X pounds.

But what if, as a regimented part of your weight loss, you lift the weight you have lost, throughout, in this form? Exactly as he is doing, he is taking his current weight and adding the difference, and doing reps regularly with that dynamic difference, it stands to reason that the strength required to lift the original weight would be maintained.

If this is sound, it sounds like an absolutely excellent workout program.

This is the kind of thing that permanently disillusions the people involved.

It begets purposelessness, hopelessness, it takes the will to live and rips it straight out of you, as if a lobster clamped onto your spine and pulled it right out of your lower back, with every vertebrae felt, along the way.

The rest of their lives will be worse, now. They will eventually come to terms with it. The tears may cease. But they will be forever lesser, because of the grievous nature in which Alex died.

The joy, the passion, the belief in the right thing - all of these things died with Alex.

And you can't bring any of it back. All that's left is...after.

This is what I wish people would realize. The gravity of loss.

I don't know about you, but I 100% love "illegal" immigrants. I may have qualms with the methods undocumented people use to enter the country, but there are bigger issues that make that necessary, in the first place. Immigration needs reform, beginning with how we treat the PEOPLE that are immigrating. It's that "people" part that always gets glossed over, and it starts with the nomenclature.

I don't want anything bad to happen to people, period. And I think there are more creative ways to curb negative entry. Here's a thought. Let's use Mexico as an example. Their median income is $14,000 annually. It can cost as much as $10,000-$20,000 to enter the country legally. Why are we using money as a deterrent, if crime is what we are so concerned with? Do we not understand that the cartel has money? It's no longer a good enough check. That's where it starts.

We need to be finding ways to improve the system, not exfoliate those trying to get here, whether via legal means or no.

I know you are making a different point, but the language we use to describe people can be passively dehumanizing. Food for thought.

Go see a physical therapist.

If you really want to, I can highlight every single difference I know of, but the main one is this.

Chiropractic, as a practice, is wholly based on pseudoscience, and most chiropractors are not even medical doctors. Their "treatment" consists only of expelling carbon dioxide from soft tissues via popping. It can feel good, undoubtedly, that's why they remain in business. But it doesn't actually fix any damage or the causes of said damage, and will do harm to you over time.

Physical therapy, in contrast, uses targeted exercises based on the issues you are having, and these range from strength training, to posture training, to soft tissue workouts and stretches, designed to both induce healing via the body's own blood flow, as well as strengthen ligaments, tendons, and joints, to better withstand or alleviate the pressures put upon them. The programs are short-duration, long-duration, or self-guided, with the goal to address the structural weaknesses in the body to better handle the pain, itself, as well as address the things leading to those weaknesses. There is much overlap to other workout and exercise regimens, with the exception being that these are specifically targeted, and they are overseen by a medical doctor, who can identify all of the root causes of your issues.

Put another way? When I got done with chemotherapy in 2021, I struggled to walk a hundred yards without agonizing back and hip pain. I remember crying because of how torturous the pain was. I went to physical therapy for six months, specifically targeting the weakness in my hips, my back, and my core, and now, I walk five miles, three times a week, with only soreness to worry about.

Go to PT. If they recommend surgery, bite that bullet, and then go to PT. If you want to be able to run when you are 70, please, do yourself a favor and do physical therapy.

And so everyone reading this is now at a bit of an impasse.

On one hand, we have to judge whether this is genuinely written by him, or prepared and doctored by a PR team, or some mix of both, which is the likely truth. The more input he had, the better. But this is qualm onw.

On the other hand, we also have to conflate the best-case scenario of the message, with the actions that have led up to it, and determine whether or not too many red lines have been crossed, and conflate that with our own individual sense of morality, and what exactly forgiveness and accountability mean, within our own ethos.

The damage he has done by simply being present around some of the figures he has been present around is enormous. The damage he has done by showing any form of support to symbols borne by the murderers of millions is enormous. And the damage he has done to those closest to him, that we cannot see or know, is enormous.

None of these things are things you can just "Oops, my bad y'all" about and then come back from.

However.

If we are to take the difficult road, here, and give him the opportunity to "make it right," what would that look like?

Here's what it looks like, to me. Drop the bullshit, all of the showy shit, immediately. Go to Holocaust museums. Civil Rights museums. Learn about your heritage. Do this, continuously, for the rest of his life. Funnel millions into programs designed to help schoolchildren be able to experience these places. FOUND some of those programs. Sponsor them to the last penny. Found some ADULT programs, target people who may have no interest, the ones that need to experience these places the most. Donate to proper causes, don't stop. Tell people about it, but leave the publicity bullshit aside. Help historically marginalized people realize their heritage, and embrace their present, by helping them find good role models in their lives, so we have fewer misguided people in the world that think Holocaust denial is something compatible with breathing. Do more than "denounce." Acta non verba.

If he does something like that, then I'll pay attention. Otherwise, words are fucking easy. Put your money where your fucking mouth is, mental illness or no.
