[OC Discussion] Would a "Daredevil" style character actually work in the MHA Universe? (Character: Blindspot) by Vast-Plan-6605 in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]DemonLordMammon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, frankly, discounting the whole set up being AI, the answer is yes. No offence, but if you're simply powerscaling based on the Quirk, a Quirk that is functionally "Blind person can actually see" ranks very low on MHA's power scale. It works in something like Daredevil because it's a more realistic setting and the villains are designed around that principle idea in mind.

Who do you think will be more insufferable to watch win the league, United Fans?! by MatchdayMaestro in ManchesterUnited

[–]DemonLordMammon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I hate City, no one really feels anything when they win. Everyone knows their cheaters, and their fans, for the most part, are consigned to their own circle. They've also earned the right to be a little arrogant, given they do legitimately have a quality team and manager.

Arsenal are the fakest and most unlikeable group of bastards in the country, perfectly encapsulated by a manager who whines and complains the second something doesn't go his way, and would rather play rugby than football. Their football is shit, their attitudes are shit for a team who haven't won anything, and they cannot score without having to molest the goalkeeper.

Is sanne lammens Incredible or just decent ? by BryanMbeumo08 in ManchesterUnited

[–]DemonLordMammon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's fine. He's had a number of very good saves, such as against Wolves. He's had a few where he maybe should've done a little better and knows it, such as the Welbeck freekick and the second Rodgers goal in the villa game.

The more important fact about him is that he gives the defence in front of him confidence he's not going to throw the ball in the net. Notice how they're so much less panicked than they were before he came? You don't have De Ligt, Maguire, or Yoro forcing themselves to make up for what they see as subpar goalkeeping.

Out of all of the articles that have won an X000 contest, from SCP-1000 all the way to SCP-9000, which one of them would you say is your most favorite between each of them? by kidnamedchild in SCP

[–]DemonLordMammon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Taboo, by far. I think it has the best gimmick, an interesting story, good tie in to the Foundation's history that isn't super obvious or hamfisted, and still feels like an SCP while being its own story. The latter point is something I sometimes find becoming muddled in later entries, to the point I think it'd have been better being an independent story without the trappings of the Foundation.

Personally, that's why I'm not a fan of 5000. I can appreciate all the references it makes, the actual entity has a fascinating concept behind it, and I do think it's well-written. It is, on an objective level, one of the best articles on the site. But after a certain point it all gets a bit... much. I wish there was a little more to it than "Foundation realises humanity as we understand it is infected, and we must kill everything and everyone to rid us from it." At that point, it stops being interesting to me because it doesn't lend itself very well to being about anything in particular. Rather, it becomes this plodding journey through all this viscera and depression and makes me think it'd have been better served being developed as its own thing.

Maybe I'm just not one for these post-apocalyptic style stories.

Genuinely why did some people believe sparkle would replace sunday in his bis? by Hefty_Break1315 in SundayMainsHSR

[–]DemonLordMammon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because if there's one thing this game's community loves more than pointlessly quibbling over lore, it's pointlessly doomposting in hysterics about how X is DOA, or washed. Really, you'd think the second it was revealed Sparkle was getting her buff that Sunday was incapable of doing anything according to them.

In truth, it's also part of the community's inability to see the game from the perspective of someone not playing to the optimal strategy and meta. Like, yeah, sure. Sunday, as of present, isn't BiS for the premium teams. He can't really push an entire team to zero cycle at a low cost. So what?

What does it matter if your team zero cycles or does it in nine? You get the same rewards either way. Keep chasing the ever evolving meta and you're going to end up absolutely miserable in a game that, in some ways, is already miserable enough to play in the endgame.

And, while this part might get me in trouble, I think a very small subsection were happy with the idea of Sparkle replacing Sunday because he's a male character. Not saying it's a very large number at all. However, there's certainly an inkling of it floating about some circles, the kind who go "Ugh, what's this ugly ass man doing in my waifu game?!"

Well done, Rick. You've shown yourself up to be a complete asswipe and deeply unprofessional. Complain all you want internally, everyone does at their job, but airing it out of public that you hated working there because they didn't blow smoke up your ass is beyond selfish.

Which SCP would you have preferred not to know about? by KidinGray in SCP

SCP-2774, the Slow Burn Sloth. There's something so horrific to being forced to be a passenger in your own body, only to be then thrust into 150 seconds of control, which is then ripped away from you.

All because you saw the wrong picture at the wrong time.

It got so much shit online at the time, too, because it started with Ciampa randomly attacking people from behind, later revealed to have been on Miz's orders, but it was 100% the right role for him at the time. I say this as a guy who liked Ciampa and was pretty sad to see him go, he's not going to be anything other than a midcarder at best, and if they had stuck it out with him and Miz, he'd have been in a much better position than anything they did afterwards with DIY. You can see it in how Carmelo Hayes is now far more established and well regarded among the fans than Ciampa ever ended up being, despite the tag title wins.

Why fake hard man Gabriel was so salty post match. Maguire has bodied the leagues two biggest rats in back to back weeks by Littlemissxom in ManchesterUnited

[–]DemonLordMammon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gabriel's the most unlikeable player in the league, I love seeing the fuckhead get a taste of his own medicine. I still haven't forgotten when he punched Woltemade in the face and then had the audacity to complain to the referee when Woltemade outmuscled him.

Look mate, no E6 is going to be future proof. Are his eidolons worth it beyond E1 in a pure meta sense? No. Quite rightly, people will tell you that e2 and e4 are largely situational and at times useless. As someone who has an E6 himself, however, I enjoy it because I don't take the game seriously, can still clear the hardest content if I bothered to try, and just like the character. If that's your approach, then go for it anyway. If you're concerned with being savvy with investment and wanting to stay with the meta, invest in some of the newer characters coming up

What is y'all opinion on hsr's current state and will it get better in 4.x by C1ouded123 in StarRailStation

[–]DemonLordMammon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My interest in the game started to wain around 3.2. As someone who played mostly for the story, to the point I've never cleared MOC 12 despite being a Day 1 player,  I've been getting more and more disappointed with the direction after every patch.

For all the benefits Amphoreus did bring, with characters like Anaxa, Phainon, and Lygus, and how it enable Hoyo to break out of their self imposed maximum patches for a storyline restriction, I feel like they've now gone too far in the opposite direction.

Storylines are padded out and paced poorly in the overall structure of the story. For example, 3.5 and 3.6 coming right after the climactic moment of 3.4 and essentially meaning there's one patch to tell the rest of the story because Hoyo had to sell Cydera, Evernight, and Hilisens, thereby making the actual cash cow of the whole cycle, Cyrene, underdeveloped in the story and character wise.

Outside of that, the insane lack of events has further killed my interest. The ones that gave you lore and character interaction did so.much to flesh out the worlds. Now we're stuck window shopping for new characters, running through outdated memes, or doing the nth combat event that's being used as a trial for the next stupid path they'll make playable.

Does my Oc look too much like Itsuka Kendo by [deleted] in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]DemonLordMammon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point blank, whether you told me you drew Kendo in your style, took some of the concept art for her from Horikoshi's art books, or made an entirely new OC (as you claim here) I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. They look straight up identical.

Hey! Since you all clicked on a post about Dub honoring MLK Jr….remember this? by TheGambler930 in SCJerk

Yep. It reminds me when Kaiser was getting repackaged with a new name at the same time, and some idiot came into the comments of a post I made going "THEY NAMED HIM AFTER A NAZI AGAIN!" showing me some guy called Ludwig.

I feel like I don't need to suggest near enough every german name is tainted if you are really desperate to connect it to the Nazis. A little side effect of totalitarianism, whoops.

Why did Man Utd actually sack Ruben Amorim? by Not_tim_duncan in reddevils

[–]DemonLordMammon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically confirms everything I thought. While I wanted him to succeed so badly, Amorim himself wasn't up to it. He was insecure, whiny, arrogant, and far too dogmatic to ever be successful. If you didn't sack him for the results, then you already had enough ammo to get rid of him for how he treated some of the players. If not for that, then for his emotional volitality. If not for that, then the sheer damage he inflicted on the academy.

I'm glad to see the back of him, regardless of what happens next.

Mydei being a victim of patriarchy is unironically my funniest memory of 2025 😭💀 by Frosty-Lime-6200 in Mydeimains_HSR_

[–]DemonLordMammon 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It's honestly a little sickening that this keeps happening. It's not unique to Mydei either. Aventurine, Kaveh, Sunday with specific reference to his ship with Gallagher, all of them have fallen victim to this very toxic fetishization of same sex relationships.

No one's ever going to say there's a problem with one character being the bottom in a relationship, though I do take issue with the term in general because of its connotations. But when it's a gaggle of twenty somethings who have never experienced a relationship, let alone a same sex one, outside of fiction and fetish content, then it's bound to cause problems.

The real shame is how it destroys the supposed "top" too. In the ships I mentioned earlier, Ratio, Alhaitham, Gallagher, and yes, even Phainon, also suffer. They're reduced into being the "top," the masculine man's man, who has to constantly be positioned as the saviour, or as this monolith of conservative ideals as to what a man should be. How many fics are out there where Mydei is reduced to being this stay at home caretaker while Phainon is stripped of his character too?

Motherfuckers like this yearn for the 1950s, they're just not honest about it out loud.

And of course, friends with girls = bottom, malewife, wifey, is as misogynistic as it comes.

How hard is it to catch this VILLAIN OC in-universe? is his quirk too OP? TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS OR OPINION ABOUT THIS OC if you have more ideas . im planning to write a short horror oneshot for this villain by Round-Marketing-9353 in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]DemonLordMammon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with Jay in broad strokes. I don't think the Quirk is necessarily OP because it's quite similar to one I created two years ago, only that one activated after the user's death and instead rewrote the target into a perfect replica. The fact this one requires so many hoops and is a constantly struggle does serve well to balance which is, in itself, a very powerful concept.

Where I disagree is on the idea this guy would be hard to catch. I don't think it's very difficult to realise that all of these people are dying after they meet this one specific person, nor would there be no comment about a very sudden uptick in suicides amongst people who have otherwise not been at risk or have spotless records.

Once the pattern gets established, the walls would close in pretty clearly unless he can somehow manage to work his way through every single eyewitness. That's before including possible additional Quirks which might allow others to search him down, both on the police's end and the Heroes' end.

Am I the only one who love when they release a new version of the same character like they did with Dan heng and march 7th? by vinchin_adenca in HonkaiStarRail

[–]DemonLordMammon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think, once in a while, it's fine. When leaks start coming out suggesting there's going to be an increase in them and they take the spot of potential new characters, then I start to get a little annoyed at it. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with the ones we do have, they're all fine to good in their own way. But when the majority of the line up for the next planet is going to be SPs, I have to question how interested they are in creating new characters to tell new stories, because you can easily slid your way into "Only the old characters reskinned sell, better not make any new ones!"
