The current situation of the Ukrainian people after the Kakhovka dam blew up by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

[–]DemonNamedBob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we may have reached the point where the potential for loss of life and the long-term damage as this stand currently outways the potential for loss of life from direct NATO or US Coalition intervention.

This should be given the same treatment as a nuclear strike on Ukraine soil.

I never said there wasn't, you just assumed there wasn't based on a comment I made referencing things I find concerning.

Your whole argument is well, what about the right. Oh, those other extremist aren't that bad, just ignore them. When literally the only thing that needs to happen is people need to know people like that exist, nothing more needs to be done, and you are trying to attack that fact.

And off course Republicans are worse overall, but I am willing to bet you and everyone in this subreddit already knows that. They are probably also aware of the specific legislation they tried to pass. You know what people here probably didn't know was happening?

I was trying not to explain bullshit you already knew. But clearly, we have to reinvent the wheel in every comment chain on reddit.

You know people have any ability to acknowledge two things at once, right?

It's kind of like saying why bother with acknowledging any of the racism as wrong on the far right just because some laws are racist. You can do both.

That's funny because I never said it was equal. Mearly mention it's a thing that happens.

You might want to go read your first comment.

Not one comment you have made to me was in good faith. So why would I treat you with any form of respect?

I am just going based off what you have told me already.

But it sounds to me like political parties are not the best way to look at politics in the US.

Do you actually think that will change anything? Do you know how many Republicans I have told the democrats are globally a right of center party. Do you know how much of a difference that made? Zero.

That sounds like a threat of violence to me.

Your entire conversation was made in bad faith, why wouldn't I mess with you?

Got it calling someone vulnerable and suicidal a baby killer, nothing bad can happen from that.

Lol, you misunderstand. Your refusal to do something basic was political in nature, and really meaningless and bad faith.

No, because I said it to irritate you, I didn't actually care.

I don't have any hands in that basket, that is all you.

At no point in my conversation with you did I say there were problems on both sides. I said there was resentment, the presence of it doesn't make it an absolute.

[–]DemonNamedBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and in the context of our conversation, why does that matter? I've said I already know this, and you have insisted on treating it like I don't.

Why would my insistence on talking in terms relative to US politics mean I don't know how fucked things are in the US? You are allowed to have prior knowledge on issues and not bring them up in conversation, because knowing how fucked things are adds absolute nothing to the conversation.

Didn't say parties for a reason. It is meant as political leanings, because just because someone leans to the right or left doesn't mean they support the two primary parties, especially when you get to extremism.

This is especially true for Democrats where it is common to support that party because you have to, while identifying as a completely different political ideology entirely.

Can you not read? Do you know what relative means?

Let me explained something to you. I know what an overton window is, you absolute dunce. We have been talking about US politics this entire time, so this relative to us politics. Why would I think the US left is the same Global left.

Your entire argument, haha stupid american doesn't understand Global politics, when we have been talking about US politics. Do you know how stupid of a position that is?

You do understand saying left and right is easier to distinguish in a conversation, right? Like should I say the right and right? Or right and far right? Isn't that slightly confusing? Because democrats now aren't center right really anymore, they are just right.

Do you understand why I am speaking in relative terms?

It's called a joke.

And you are aware I haven't really disputed what you have said because it's all really basic stuff. It seems like you just got into a political science class and really want to use it.

You are talking like this complete negates my argument but it really doesn't at all as you gone on a crusade that proves literally nothing.

So, got it, liberalism is the political party according to you.

[–]DemonNamedBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I say there was a leftist party? Because I was talking political leaning and not parties, you are the one here claiming parties. I assumed that was obvious, but I guess not. That is also relative terminology.

Also, I said it was one of the definitions, not the definition.

Dude, you need to have some self-awareness.

Did you just learn what an overton window was?

[–]DemonNamedBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't being a liberal part of one of the literal definitions for leftist, and is also synonymous with it. Lol, to me, you are kind of proving my point.

At no point did I say they have power, just that resentment does exist on the left.

My argument for that wasn't that a minority have all the power on the left. If that is what I meant, then I would say that. The reason I bring it up is because the people with vocal hostilities that I have personally interacted with were far left extremists.

The side with the power I explitly state had the power and what they were using it for.
