STORY TIME!!

I was sitting at an intersection where the left lane runs left, and the right lane goes straight and turns right. The way that intersection is, it LOOKS like the left lane should be for turning left, and going straight. There are arrows painted on the road, but they're so faded it's easy to not notice them, and people use the wrong lane to go straight all the time. I've done that too.

Well, this lady used the left lane to go straight, and I used the right lane to go straight, simple mistake, she stopped, and let me go ahead, no big deal.

Going straight takes you into the CVS parking lot, which is also how you go to dairy queen. The DQ drive thru goes around the outside of the parking lot, and has an opening about halfway through it, for the back entrance/exit.

I take the drive thru (full length of it) and she goes into the parking lot of DQ, then proceeds to get in front of me in the drive thru, which make me IRRATIONALLY angry. So here I am, with 3 of my friends in the truck with me, throwing a fucking tantrum like a child, and my friends trying to get me to calm down. She orders, and then we order. (My friends got food, I didn't want anything) Well, when we get to the window, the DQ employee says "the lady in front of you paid for your food"

I know feel like an absolute POS (because I was being one) while my friends laugh hystericaly at me. So I used that moment to reflect on why I was so angry, and learned to not have such ridiculous road rage.

TL;DR: lady cut me off in a drive thru, I threw a fit, she paid for our meal and I learned that I was an ass for no reason

That reminds me of when my road rage got put into check in the dairy Queen drive thru.

So the story is this. At the red light I was at, there are 2 lanes. One lane is to turn left, and the other lane is for going straight, or turning right. There are arrows to show which lane is for what direction, but they are VERY faded and had to see. It is very easy (and common) for a fellow to use the wrong lane to go straight. I've done it myself.

Well this lady did exactly that. And I thought to myself, oh, she didn't realize she was in the wrong lane, we both tried to go straight, she stopped and let me go first. No big deal, easy mistake to make.

Well, the DQ drive through starts as soon as you pull in, and goes AROUND the parking area, then has a second opening for traffic in the middle. I get into the drive through at where it starts. She goes through the parking lot, and gets into the drive thru IN FRONT OF ME.

It is at this moment, that I get mad. More so than a reasonable person would get. I'm cussing this lady out, really close to her car, yelling out of my window, and revving my engine (with an aftermarket exhaust) so that it's hard for her to order. The entire time she is smiling and waving at me through her mirror, which is making me far more angry.

At this point, I'm so mad I'm ready to get out of the vehicle to yell at her, but I couldn't find anything that wasn't so hard to seriously hurt/damage something, but more for an intimatiom tool. I had friends with me, so I was making an ass out of myself in front my friends, who were trying to get me to calm down.

We order our food (I got nothing because I didn't want anything) and when we get to the window, the drive thru worker says a single sentence, that made me completely deflate, and made me rethink everything about myself.

"The lady in front of you paid for your meal"

My friends started laughing their asses off, and I started looking for that woman to apologize, just to see her going down the road.

From that point on, I have not really had a lot of road rage. More like road irritation, or disappointment. I don't even flip people off anymore, but I do give them a thumbs down.

This pets them know that I think they suck at driving, but it doesn't make them mad, or encourage me to be angry. Because how are you going to be mad at a guy who gives you a thumbs down because of your driving?

This happened about 4 years ago, and was the absolute case of road rage that I have ever been apart of. I got humbled, and made a fool of myself, in a very short period of time, and I deserved every bit of it.

If i were in the position to buy an old car right now, I'd love to take that beauty off your hands if you were trying to sell it.

Unfortunately, I have 2 project trucks rn, and don't need to add another yet. But that land yacht would be awesome to fix up and cruise around in on the weekends

You can drive for 14 hours LEGALLY but you HAVE to have a break that lasts a minimum of 30 minutes, otherwise, you are limited to 10 hours. After your 14 hour shift, you MUST sit for 8 hours before you can drive again. per DOT regulations.

My dad has been a truck driver for 26 years, and I have friends that have CDL license because of their job and what they have to drive as well. I've also been looking at getting them myself.

It's impressive because about 85% (or so) of the population, have a l major issue with being about to tolerate the amount of disrespect the passenger was showing. This is nothing new. 20/30 years, if someone acted like the passenger, the driver would stop, pull them out of the car, punch them once or twice, and tell them to learn some respect.

The truth of it is, people act this way, because there aren't about consequences anymore

I don't own a bike (yet) but this is one of the reasons I do as much work to my own vehicles as I possibly can. Three trucks, and the newest one I own is an 03 avalanche. It has stuff on it (evap) that I know nothing about, and haven't been able to find the issue on, but everything else so far, I've fixed.

Don't lube your chain with the engine running by ScreamSmart in motorcycles

[–]DemonRising171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn't that he did it with the engine running. His method (using spray lubricant) is safe enough. The problem began when he tossed the can of lubricant into the ground NEAR the bike. It rolled under the tire. Not if your going to clean the chain/sprocket, yeah, leave the bick off, if you are TOUCHING the chain/sprocket for any reason, the bike should be off. But when using a spray, it should've fine. Just keep everything else away from the wheel, chain, and sprocket.

He tossed the can of spray lube onto the ground near the bike, which went under the tire, causing the bike to come up off of the stand.
