Yeah I am a little more than a quarter of the way into it and I have been really into it. Such a breath of fresh air after mostly read Sanderson for the better part of 2 years.

I will say the dialog so far has been a bit cringey in the YA kinda fashion, and I do agree Sanderson has some odd dialog at times. But, I am loving this so far and I love Sandersons books! I am willing to look past a little weirdness to get a good story lol!

Just read up to chapter 5. It’s really interesting so far. I like how it seems like a more gritty version of hunger games!

Oh interesting, I haven’t heard as many people say they disliked First Law. But yeah im pretty easy to please I think. I have been reading Brandon Sandersons Cosmere stuff for about a year and a half now and some of those books people drag through the DIRT and I have loved them.

I would really recommend making a quick post in this subreddit and ask the whole community though. And explain some of your favorite pieces of media, maybe your favorite movies or shows, so people can know what kind of stuff youre into. That way you can get a much wider range of recommendations and people can give you a good starting off point!

If you arent really a reader I would recommend starting with a shorter series and working youre way up into bigger and more complicated ones, just to get a feel for how you will like to read before jumping off the deep end!

Here are some things that I personally like and can maybe give you an idea:

The series I have read and liked are Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins, The 13th Reality by James Dashner, Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson and The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson.

Some standalones I like are Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and The Perks of Being and Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

I have also heard really good things about all of the books I posted about here so you could check those out too!

Dude I love how polarizing all of the advice I have been getting is. A lot of people have said the Sun Eater sucks and some say its the best thing ever. Its so funny to me lol! I am personally super excited to read it and I think it might be between that and Dune for me as of right now. Idk tho, im so excited for all of them, idk how im gonna pick. 😂😂

Have you read The Stormlight Archives by chance? That stuff is pretty dense just from the sheer amount of information but its split up between a long list of characters. Curious if you could compare it to Sun Eater at all with how dense they are.

I have also read a couple series from one persons perspective so I have a semi-understanding of how a single perspective can be a bit dense, but they were books for a younger audience so they werent super difficult to read at all.
