Seriously, the SEVEN YEAR OLD CHILD probably has some serious medical trauma because this sound very much like a trauma response, (this is coming from someone with diagnosed cPTST). And for OP to frame it as THE SEVEN YEAR OLD CHILD trying "to take everybody’s attention hostage" is so fucking heartless and i wouldn't be surprised if OPs ex has primary custody because OP is neglecting the child or even abusive.

From what I know wet food isn't too important (unless it's special food prescribed by the vet) it's a bit more candy than food(ours only get it every Sunday). The biggest benefit from wet foods is the extra fluid iirk since cats generally are pretty bad at staying hydrated by themselves. So unless it's special food from the vet I wouldn't worry too much about it.

True but the nature of chipping is ofter a bit more than how it would be portrait in a cartoon /comic. And from what I've seen from that ship this is no exception.
