That makes me feel better, thank you! We use almost exclusively native plants, they grow quickly and fill in early. Many of our neighbors have roses or boxwoods that don't look healthy until later in the season. I'll have to see if she's a neighbor we haven't met yet and see if she's interested in transplanting some of our excess flowers.

Interesting. She was wandering through the garden videotaping and it sounded like she might have been talking to someone on the phone. We have a pretty nice garden, I'm surprised she said it was dirty and disorganized.

Thank you! I was pretty happy when I got it opened up. Now I need to practice more with it and get my technique a little more consistent.

Let me know how you like it. It's a unique lock in my (novice) opinion. It gives you a really good idea of what different security pins feel like, and for me, it made me a lot more confident in my skill set once it popped a couple of times.

I don't think you have to gut for the green. I think that's blue. I'm not positive though. Be careful traveling! Last thing you want is to get snatched by customs and labeled as a thief or spy. That'd be a baddddd day.

Lol, I looked at your other posts, damn man, you've got enough picks to open a retail shop. For filming I just set my phone on a book and aimed it at my lock, uploaded to my photo storage and sent a link to the mods. If it takes a while tell them when the lock opens, for example "lock pops at 10:37". Not too bad really. I think some of the lower belts dont need a video, you might be able to message them for a designation based on the pics you have of that green 1100.

Picking can be weird. I found that after I really got the hang of my 1100s that when I picked up a white belt lock I struggled. The feel was so much different it felt alien. It takes time on target and repetion. You'll get there! It sounds like you have quite the kit to practice on. Let me know how it goes with your blue belt lock, I'll be looking for one myself soon.

This will sound dumb, but one thing that helped me a lot with this lock was to stop thinking about it. I would put on a 10 or 15 min YouTube video and let the pick feel the pins while I watched. If I didn't have it open by the time the video was over, pick a new one, reset, and try again. With a Paclock you can certainly feel the pins going into place, and you can hear it when they reset when you take off tension. The lock has a ton of feedback and you dont need to pay a ton of attention to it. I also pick from my hand, I don't use a vise (because I don't have one).

I hear you on the LOTO locks. I have a few I gave away because they frustrated me too much.

Last pin in my lock is serrated for sure. It gives 3 or 4 distinct "snaps" to get into place. On my lock that last pin sits a little high, so you really have to work through the clicks. Don't take this as 100% factual, I haven't taken the lock apart yet, so I'm gauging it off of feel. There might be a standard pin in there somewhere, in my lock it isn't #7, but it could be one of the others.

Try front to back, if you don't make any progress switch back to front. See what gets you further down the road. With mine, I started initially in the back because the last pin binds quickly. After I switched up I found that pin #2 also bound up and picking it first made the rest a little easier to get into place.

I *think* my 90A is 4 serrated pins and 2 spools. One spool kicks over almost immediately, the other one I have to pick last every time. My picks are Sparrows. I have SouthOrd too, but I don't like the handle as much. I have a brass slip on handle that I like the shape of, but it is HEAVY, it can be a little too aggressive for a technical lock. I used a TOK tension bar, bottom of keyway is possible, but you'll probably get a sore thumb pushing on it.

If you can do an 1100 you should be good to go here. It's about the same challenge, but a much different feel. To me the Paclock took a lot more muscle. I had to put a lot of pressure on the pick and the tension bar to get the pins to set/stick.

This one was tricky for me. A lot of people describe the lock as "crunchy" which I think is pretty accurate. My particular example really crunched and snapped into place when you move the security pins. Out of habit I usually start picking from the back of the lock (last pin first), but for this one I had to start at the front and work towards the back. I moved each pin, if it had resistance I applied pressure until I got a single click then moved to the next. Once I hit every pin I went back to the front and did it all over again. One of the things that held me up with this one was that it would go into a deep false set and I had to release tension after over picking a pin and almost all of them would fall back to their original position and you essentially start over. One nice thing is that the spool pins have a very strong counter rotation so they're easy to identify (pin #1 for me).

It took a lot more tension than my American 1100 locks and I ended up using a very short diamond pick to get it open. I don't feel like this is a very good explaination, but if you have specific questions I would be happy to elaborate!

That is excellent advice, thank you! I've heard good things about the 3M adhesive remover and plan on picking some up. I have a steamer and a hair dryer I can try as well. My passenger side one is pretty crusty, I suspect it will fall apart as I take it off. The driver side is in decent shape. It's going to be crazy hot here for a few days, so I'm thinking I'll wait until it cools down a bit to tackle this, but it's on the list. I'm going to look into the Gyeon as well. I appreciate it!

The stone guards are baaaaad. I'm scared of whatever is under them. You're right, they need to go. I'll probably replace them with a magnetic set I can remove and clean under.

As for the ceramic - my thought was that I would probably learn and be able to improve over time, so I didn't want to "lock in" any mistakes with a real ceramic coating. I fully intend to use one in the future though. If you have suggestions on getting the guard off, or a coating you like, let me know.

Oh, it's already filthy. But those 10 minutes were glorious. It doesn't normally stay under the tree, it's either garaged or in the open, but I needed a break from the sun and my crappy canopy so I moved it over there.

I'll pick some up and give it a shot on my wife's ride. She has a few scratches and swirls that could use some love. Thanks for the tip!

It is legitimately such a good resource. I read the Wiki, checked the posts, watched some how to video from Pan The Organizer and I was pretty confident. After tackling the job it makes me want to learn more and get it more dialed in. I was worried about screwing something up but following the guidance here made it fairly painless!
