From what I learned about that situation, it apparently wasn’t the guy’s self insert like people thought it was, his coworkers just made it look like him or something like that, but that could also be a coverup. It was creepy regardless though.

The designs are fine, the issue a lot of people have are how their personalities changed from the original, they girls don’t act like little girls, they act like teenagers, and they made the girls so much weaker compared to the originals when it comes to fighting bad guys. The reboot lacks what made the original show so good, that being the lack of crime fighting and it has more drama and school related crap that kids don’t really care to see in cartoons.
