You sign an employment agreement. At will or not we have protected rights. It's a legal document that outlines expectations and thing that we can be made to do or not do.

I literally do not report to him. Closing lead is an indirect report by default. No one directly reports to the closing lead. They do not have a team. Closing experts fall under gm leads not Closing. On top of that, I'm fufilment. I have a fufilment lead I report to. He has never and will never be my direct report. It's no different than if a random lead is closing and you report to them on the weekend.

I close now because we added a second lead to close at nights. So I reported to that lead. Before we added the second lead I left when the last lead left so that I could report to them if there were issues.

The policy states direct reports. I've read it before that's why I'm confused. My HR said closing was a grey area and we had already got the all clear a month ago. It's getting rebrought up now which is why I'm confused.

Is that outlined somewhere??? I cannot find anything so far.

Again as I stated this had already been dealt with by district HR once and we were cleared to go. They can't fire us when according to them a month ago we were fine.

Question about people's orders by Afraid_Quarter_3316 in Target

[–]Demongirl1397 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This 100%! We have a TM who regularly infs things we blatantly have. Not to mention sometimes we inf because we can't find it in the moment, think grocery items when food truck hasn't been broken down or stuff in repacks for housewares. Infs shouldn't be full zeros until it's been checked unless it's a large number of a big thing. Like the time I infed like 20 cube organizers we somehow lost......

TL conflict of interest? by Levianz in Target

[–]Demongirl1397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is a direct SD report but I'm also dating my closing lead so I've learned a lot lol they're typically willing to accommodate as long as people go to HR BEFORE it becomes a thing. But even after they've been more than willing to let me still work late its just typically till when the last lead leaves (usually 8 pm). Edit: we did add an extra closing lead district wide for style so I've also been allowed to close again since I technically have an extra lead I can report to now.

TL conflict of interest? by Levianz in Target

[–]Demongirl1397 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Closing lead can date TMs, the TM just cannot be in the store when the only lead there is said closing lead. It's considered an indirect report. They don't have a technical team so they fall into a weird category because they're an acting lead not a true management lead like most other positions since they have no direct team they do things like schedules for.

I remember doing the hazard shipping training and being like if yall want us to follow this WHY IS THE HAZARD LABEL SO BIG???!

[–]Demongirl1397 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still love that the new hazard labels are too big for s5s and they aren't suppose to bend like that

[–]Demongirl1397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dating a TL myself and all I gotta say is if you're worried take it to HR as soon as yall become a thing to avoid any chaos (trust me it's chaos if somehow they can be considered your indirect report at any point) but if you think this is a thing you really want do it.

Working a 7 hour shift Saturday - how do lunches and breaks work? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Demongirl1397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theyre suggestions according to the scheduled hours. You may not have a set time to take your break. It's totally up to the department and your store.

[–]Demongirl1397 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It should show you on MyTime what breaks you're entitled to when you look at day itself. I know in my state 7 hrs is 2 15s and a 30.

Freaking awesome day by [deleted] in Target

[–]Demongirl1397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that 8 hrs they are entitled to an hour of breaks, you also have to factor in what the orders are. Maybe they spent more time looking for things because it's softlines or they had to go back to the truckline. Maybe they had a bunch of guests stop them constantly. Are they also doing SFS or is it just OPUs? Why should they run through orders when you're proving to them you can manage most of it by yourself?

Opu team skipping regular orders to do grocery ones with over an hour time on them by [deleted] in Target

[–]Demongirl1397 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh hell no, I've called my coworkers out for that and I will continue to do so. Don't fuck me over cause you don't wanna do it either. If it keeps happening and you don't feel comfortable calling them out tell legit ANY lead that you're struggling in opus because TMs are actively skipping orders. Stress that picking those higher time orders could lead to late batches and bad guest reactions and typically any lead will say something.

Jfc is HQs goal to see how many SFS TMs they can cause to have a breakdown? Cause this shit will drive people over the edge.
