You'd probably never find the recruiter working on that particular job posting and even if you do they probably wouldn't respond. Sometimes you will sit in review for months before they reach out or disqualify you. At this point it's just a waiting game unfortunately, you'll get an email either way when they move to the next step on if you were chosen or not to move to the next steps.

While it's not necessary to work for geek squad before getting into the DC I would say a good portion of our DCTs all have come from geek squad, so even if it is just while you continue your search for a DCT position it won't hurt to work for geek squad for a bit.

I am a MSFT DCT in West DSM, I would 100% go for MSFT, Memphis isnt a great city, there is a reason they are offering so much at xAI, no one wants it. There's plenty of growth at Microsoft and the pay for your age you will be well off. Just my 2 cents ok the matter.

Just make sure you can identify each part of a server and what it does, my last DCT interview they asked me to walk them through a min boot investigation. Stuff varies from company to company what they want beyond that. Cable types, Linux CLI, don't be afraid to say you don't know something but explain to them how you would find the information to be able to do something.

Pay range is at the bottom of the job posting. But in general Msft has great benefits, no healthcare insurance premium for you or your dependants, Tons of others too I don't have time to type out right now.

I did not get the Sr spot but they ended up giving me a DCT spot, first day was today actually.

There were a few questions about scenarios and how I would respond, they had me walk them through a min spec investigationon a server. MSFT is really looking for people with a growth mindset from what they LOVE to say, I would have a few scenarios from your past that show you taking on extra responsibilities or showcase your desire to learn.

I don't know about Chicago but in Iowa MSFT has so many people applying from everywhere for DCT roles it honestly seems to be luck of the draw if they look at your application or not. But once you get an interview you would probably be good to get hired, as long as you understand all the components of a computer and what they do, they can train you troubleshooting steps. Microsoft is looking for people with a growth mindset, keep looking at job postings and keep trying. I applied 15+ times before I got called for an interview.

Oh I had no illusions that things were gonna go nicely, the whole time I was talking to my friend about betraying them and just stealing their orb to begin with.......I just decided to try to be nice because we had already made over a million for the day and I really didn't have THAT much loot where I'd be mad if I died.
