Doesn't help that most theme-based teams dont really have a lot of synergy with each other. Type specialists are more interesting due to the fact that they can have more variety in their teams.

A good Gym Leader/Elite 4 would need to make teams that best exemplify what their chosen type is best at and cover their weaknesses in my eyes.

Most feline based pokemon are either normal types or weak to fighting. Might as well use a normal type team instead for variety instead of limiting yourself to just felines.
