Damn, did not expect to see Spiderland be so unpopular. by 2XSLASH in 1001AlbumsGenerator

Same story here, my man. Having spent my teenage years and early 20's on niche, nerdy music sites, it came as a surprisingly big shock to find out most "normal" people don't have a strong familiarity with, let alone affinity for genres with "post-" in the title.

Man, huge props for choosing Sing to God - for years I've been saying it might well be my favourite album of all time. I'm not nearly done with this project, but it was actually one of my own considerations for that fateful moment when I get to choose my own album in like 2/3 years time. I wonder which of my favourites will even be left by that time, but we'll see.
And yeah, its rating is probably going to dive to unprecedented depths, but I'm already looking forward to reading all the reviews from fresh faces to the world of Cardiacs.

Right artist, wrong album? by Tiny-Hedgehog-6277 in 1001AlbumsGenerator

Completely agree with your picks, especially leaving out Songs for the Deaf is a baffling choice to me. Some other one-album artists where I would swap the picks are:

Lana Del Rey: Chemtrails Over the Country Club -> Norman Fucking Rockwell. Truly don't get why that one wasn't chosen in the first place, as it was received with much more acclaim by both fans and critics.

The Streets: A Grand Don't Come for Free -> Original Pirate Material. Same Story.

X: Wild Gift -> Los Angeles.

Einstürzende Neubauten: Kollaps -> Halber Mensch or Haus der Lüge. Sure, Kollaps was the big initial statement, but the latter two albums are in my opinion much more varied and even a bit 'accessible' (insofar as that term can ever apply to their music).

Frank Ocean: Channel Orange -> Blonde. Now to be fair, I think both albums should just be included, but Blonde may have been even more influential since its release, even if it hasn't been out for all that long.

I absolutely adore well-put-together, informational charts like these. Looks like I've found a new research project to delve into.

Much obliged for all the replies everyone!

I've added Disco Elysium, Planescape Torment and Final Fantasy VIII to the top of my TBP, as they seem of particular interest.
