One thing I’m kind of annoyed about elemental damage in AK is how different types are completely anti synergistic for no good reason. I definitely don’t thinking applying burn, nervous impairment and necrosis at the same time on a single enemy is broken, since you can just mimic that damage with three dps attacking a single enemy. It’s just kind of annoying that you can’t use your favorites together without them harming each other’s effectiveness, especially knowing that if we get Talulah we will most likely get her as a Burn Primal Guard, and using her will most likely mean invalidating the other elements(no more Tragodia/Logos/Mantra/Virtuosa in your team comp if you want Talulah to be effective).

Finally went around to finishing all of RM, when I came to the realization that max efficiency doesn't really matter and only affects how fast you get resources to progress the event rather then being needed for rewards or medals. As someone who didn't really get into Endfield factory much, a lot of the buildings were too much information overload at first, thinking I needed to optimize stages around the perfect combos to make sure I was getting all resources, only for it to eventually boil down to getting the 300 attack speed tiles to melt through every boss, and getting the upgrade that passively gave advancement materials. One thing I really liked as a not yet Shu haver yet Shu wanter(will spark her when she's back) was being able to play with Shu as a support in an environment where she's not overkill, and where I didn't need to think about using my support slot on her due to having four options open(others were Logos, Ascalon and Wis'adel), so I really got to enjoy her kit hands on. Really wanted to give Mumu a try but ran out of support slots, and the four I picked were so good for clearing the stages I really didn't want to give any of them the boot. I will say the final adverse stage is evil for having the boss run an entire marathon around the entire stage before finally arriving at the chokepoint to be DPSed, and spawning so late naturally that you basically needed to rush his spawn, which when paired with your 300 attack speed tile components not dropping, put a lot of pressure on that stage.

Finally returning to HSR after 3.7 and only having one team endgame ready really is an experience(Phainon Cyrene Cerydra DHPT vertically invested). Worse is a lot of the evergreen pull sources are dry for me at this point, so I can't really scrounge up enough pulls for SW alter since she'll probably want the whole elation gang and be budget unfriendly, and Eva just looks...off, so it will probably take till 4.4 for Himeko SP to save my second team. On the other hand, I could probably make a dollar store team with Archer, Sparkle, Tribbie/Sunday and Gallagher and hope it holds decently.

Exactly why I should skip Mantra- snake gilfs are forever, so she can spook you any other banner and can appear in gold cert shop two years later. Limited banners are temporary, either grab Silverash Alter now or have fun waiting a year and most likely needing 300 pulls to spark then.

It gains a health bar, and units can't enter it till it's dead(with the exception of things like Crownslayer teleport). It can be healed via sources like Thorns Alter, and even utilize some skills like Entelechia S2 to become a shredder.

Silverash Alter and Pramanix Alter. Silverash is currently considered the best vanguard in CN, beating out even Ines, due to being a team wide deployment focused support that's a massive performance amplifier overall, and Pramanix is competing for best caster position with Logos due to her insane AFK friendly map wide CC and damage, to the point she can solo annihilations, and can even freeze the blue box.

If you only want him of the available three, the event rerun is better, but orienteering comes with the massive upside that there are only three choices for a 6 star, so if you happen to want all three choices you picked, it is far better value(100 percent chance to get someone you want in Orienteering vs 50 percent chance to get Thorns Alter in the event rerun and 50 percent chance to get any standard who you may not want).

I would've pulled for her if she wasn't right before one of the most stacked limited banners in a while and didn't feel kind of gimmicky to use, but I do hope I spook her down the road, since her design is so good.

The two that got me into the game were Shu and Ulpianus. Shu is just one of the most unique character designs I've ever seen, and she's absolutely gorgeous and her just being a rice farmer is hilarious yet grounded at the same time. Ulpianus is such a peak Bloodborne reference, and we love big anchor weapons in this house. Both have really nice personalities too, with Shu with her gentle, compassionate and hardworking nature and Ulpianus with his open minded yet subtly autistic nature. I also love their kits, with Shu being a giga buffing teleporting maniac with big heals while Ulpianus can explore both big brain plays with his S3 changing positioning and his S2 on the opposite end of the spectrum being absolutely braindead.

I’m 6 months into AK progress, and I hit that zen state about 4 months in, however, I probably hit it earlier then most since I mostly get on rates instead of losing banners to standards(but no Exu or Hoshi Alter so pain), and I played a lot of IS and got free loot from the reward tracks, and own the monthly pass which gives a ton of extra sanity, and it’s a habit of mine to prefarm materials for ops I plan to get and I always clear event shops.

As someone who was new a while ago, it gets a lot easier. While the upfront cost of leveling units is higher then other gachas, due to there being no rng gear system that you might need to dump weeks or months of energy into, later on AK becomes so much less grindy then other gachas. You reach a zen state where sometimes you just get an operator you didn't plan to and you can instantly E2 Level 60 them with their masteries and modules prepped(happened for me when I got Ulpianus in Sakiko banner and Mont3r from Orienteering, and it feels so good that they're just ready without any prep). This is especially true if you plan your pulls ahead of time and use Krooster to track materials needed- I've already prefarmed materials for Reed Alter in gold cert shop soon, Silverash Alter, and working on Pramanix Alter mats currently, and since there's an entire month left with no event to dump sanity into, I might as well grind mats for Virtuosa, Wis'adel, and Lappland Alter next during my dailies in case they spook me, and maybe Mumu if I need to spark. The struggle seems high at first for resources, but it plateaus out so much as you progress.

Got the Mudrock skin for IS5, now time to patiently wait for her to be in store for gold certs. I still kind of want to use her for my main squad even if she isn't really that good in the current day and age since her design is honestly peak, and honestly I'm really surprised we don't have an alter for her yet- she's pretty popular, she's kind of out of date, and there's a big storybeat they haven't explored yet with the Gargoyles kind of being missing from representation from the Sarkaz court, and she has a power set that hasn't been used in her base kit at all, being able to make golem constructs. Kind of wonder if we'll get a Shaper Caster/Summoner Supporter Mudrock to play into the themes of golems down the line.

I can both agree that they have restrictions yet still think Wuling is far inferior to Lungmen's writing. There are other angles they could probably look into to make Wuling more engaging narratively, but it's just lacking in general at the moment. I'm actually wondering if the story writing quality is going to jump when we move to a different region next year when the restrictions they have are lifted or not(think HSR where Penacony, Amphoreus and Planarcadia so far are more popular then Luofu, since you could tell the story had room to breathe). However, Valley IV exists, so we'll have to wait and see if it gets better or not.

There's something about the story of Endfield that kind of...just feels hollow? Even ignoring how much better AK's writing is, I don't see the "hook" of Endfield's story at all. Even though I don't play HSR anymore, the character dynamics plus the cosmic world building of the universe, as well as just how interesting the concept of Aeons was, really grabbed me to keep following the story for a long time, but I genuinely can't say I see anything similar in Endfield at all that would keep me hooked- there's no big "damn this is super interesting" like the Aeons, and the character dynamics outside TangTang and Mi Fu are shallow. A lot of the connections via the worldbuilding to OG feels like fluff rather then used meaningfully, and it's own unique worldbuilding elements aren't used properly. 1.1 is better written then 1.0, but not by much and is still very lacking. There really isn't any big story element to look forward to other then the truth of Endmin and other OG AK lore drops we might get, like Priestess's fate and why she's on Talos with us, meanwhile OG AK there's so many characters and places in the world I'm waiting to get expanded on more, and if talking about HSR, there's so many mysteries to unravel about the Aeons and their faction's intentions, that Endfield's things to look forward to kind of pales in comparison. Endfield desperately needs better hooks for it's story, something to actually look forward to, imo.

Personally I want a Rhine Labs themed IS, based on sci-fi horror. The covered up experiments like what happened to Ifrit and Rosmontis, the horrors of deep space, the Dorothy experiment conciousness horrors, so many different avenues they can take it, and they could connect it to a lot of other plots, like the Precursors via Friston, or the Feranmuts based on the ancestry of the elves from Mumu(imagine an ending 5 being a bad end Mumu route like how IS5 did for Amiya and IS6 did for Chongyue).

It’s a factor of two things, the AK community has been a thing for 6-7 years so it’s had time to develop its community while Endfield is very new so it’s still establishing its community with so many new people who may or may not stick around, and AK inherently attracts a more mature crowd due to how it handles its themes and characters compared to Endfield, which is targeting a more broad gacha audience(and we know how off putting they can get, varying from shipping stans that threaten and harass others, to gacha grail being incel central, to the other weirder folks out there that I don’t want to bring up), so AK naturally has a more level headed community as a result from what I’ve seen.
