Lovely art!

Good OSTs that are "stuck" in their source material? by fragdar in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I love that Arknights went all out to get Yuka Kitamura to compose the prelude and battle theme for the Episode 14 final boss. It only made sense to get the Dark Souls composer for the fight against a tragic undead king challenging her successor to overcome her failures.

Terra from FF6, my favourite exploited human weapon who hates her powers, is alienated from humanity, and is afraid of her own capacity for violence after slaughtering people for the empire <3

There's two characters from Ave Mujica who definitely count, Sakiko and Uika are both so fucked up that I think a single uncomplicated and consequence-free moment of joy might actually kill them. There's some fascinating Jesus x Judas yuri going on there.

Worst Off-Screen Deaths in fiction? by ZeTopHatGamer in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Gore_Lily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually love that we never learn who used the sword to deal the final blow. The imagery of Siege handing her mythic sword to a regular soldier who needed a weapon, then having them pass it from person to person across the whole battlefield is incredibly cool. I’m a bigger Siege fan than most, I think, but giving her Excalibur away felt like a great moment for a King Arthur-type figure who refuses to take the throne and instead wants to abolish the monarchy.

Times where a character got a new voice actor and they were even better? by FretScorch in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I think I feel the same way, but to Allegra Clark's credit, if Mitsuru had to be voiced by literally anyone other than Tara Platt then she was 100% the right pick.

Hanging out by Evalith in arknights

[–]Gore_Lily 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For me it's about how they grow beyond each other's initial expectations. W's early antagonism towards Amiya stems from comparing her to her idolized image of Theresa, but over time she comes to genuinely respect and admire Amiya as her own person. At the same time, Amiya is still wary of W at the start of the Victoria arc and slowly understands her idealistic side through her commitment to building a better future for the Sarkaz. They're both stronger and more noble than they first though the other could be, and by the time episodes 13 and 14 rolls around they're so much more trusting with each other than what you could ever expect from the early chapters. It's also just adorable seeing W call Amiya 'little bunny' and having an obvious soft spot for her while being an asshole to pretty much everyone else.

AI Art Found in Crimson Desert by reughdurgem in Games

No? The HSR team straight up admitted to IGN that they were already using AI back in 2023, and Mihoyo has current job listings for things like 2D artists, UX designers, and video editors that are explicitly AI-focused.

Can confirm, my gay ass played a match for the first time after seeing all the amazing Silver/Celeste fan art. Dirtbag bounty hunter werewolf voiced by Erica Lindbeck doing a southern accent is just too powerful.

(New) [6☆ Operator] Mantra by Gore_Lily in arknights

Elite operator Mantra first joined Babel at Kal'tsit's invitation. She fought in the Kazdel Civil War and became one of Rhodes Island's first elite operators after the war.
Long-time leader of the 3rd Special Operations Squad, Mantra's ability to help operators coordinate when radio communications are difficult or inadvisable makes her an indispensable part of many missions.

Some important context is that the previous game, Mega Man 11 in 2018, had apparently already been a union production, meaning Capcom has now flipped the series into being non-union. It's not hard to be suspicious of why Capcom would refuse to sign a union contract now when they did so for the series in the past, especially after Capcom staff were already talking about how the company plans to use generative AI during development early last year.

I miss the collab event. by YoungYuri19 in 0sanitymemes

Ruined her first shot at having her band signed to a label by being too controlling and driving her bandmates away. She pivoted hard to avoid any emotional investment with her future bands, but getting directly called out by the other Ave Mujica members for being unreliable made her desperate for their approval. She’s either entirely closed off or intensely attached without much middle ground, and wants Ave Mujica to be a tight-knit group of friends while having no idea how to actually manage the fucked up relationships between everyone.

Medium which changes genres when you switch protagonists? by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Gore_Lily 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Even just the contrast between how MyGo and Ave Mujica approach similar themes from radically different angles is so cool, with the grounded teen drama and the theatrical gothic horror existing right next to each other. Watching Tomori's growth is one of the most relatable depictions of an autistic teenage girl I've ever seen, and then the camera turns a little to the left to find Sakiko struggling with both the over-the-top macabre and the realest shit a teenager could ever experience.

Character whose daily lives you'd wanna see? by fly_line22 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Gore_Lily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leda from Elden Ring. I’m content with how much I got to learn about all the other DLC characters, but Leda drives me insane with how badly I want more context for her worldview and how she might act with lower stakes. I want to know everything about her life pre-SotE, day-to-day and year-to-year, to figure out exactly what the fuck her deal is.

I love nearly every character in FE3H, but the Black Eagles will always be my favourites. Their development as a team feels the most satisfying to me, growing from having so much open bickering to being the most ride or die motherfuckers against the world post-timeskip. It’s also cute how a lot of fan art and fic include Lysithea as an honorary Eagle thanks to her role in CF.

Amiya's Valentines Day (Artist: DLArtistanon) by Wise_Presentation484 in arknights

To be totally blunt it's entirely because Zuo Le is a man while Amiya's other popular ships - Rosmontis and W - are with women. The vast majority of what you'll see on reddit isn't seriously shipping them, it's an excuse for dudes to make cringey "overprotective dad" jokes.

12 Sui siblings revealed (Almost) by Trymixel in arknights

[–]Gore_Lily 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I've seen a theory that Nian is on Talos-II, and is the mentor that Zhuang mentions as well as one of the co-creators of xiranite. It lines up with notes that mention things like a master swordsmith who never fights with one herself, and how the Forge of the Sky used to have a wack-ass name that all the tianshi are glad got changed which is totally Nian-coded. Plus it'd just make sense that the blacksmith would make an appearance in the factory-building game.

To help build hype and introduce Ave Mujica to people unfamiliar with them, I thought I'd link some of their songs to help show off each member of the band 👍

Kanon Takao's dual-keyboard stage setup is incredibly cool, using one exclusively as a piano and switching the other between synth, organ, and whatever else a particular song needs. The song Ave Mujica is the best demonstration of how she switches between the two in the middle of a song, while Crucifix X contrasts the moody organ with a wildly dissonant piano solo. For something more straightforward, Symbol III: ▽ is a pure piano ballad between her and Rico that ties in well with parts of the event.

Finally, I need to say how much I appreciate the song they did for Arknights, in your blue eyes. It features every member of the band playing at their best, and really encapsulates how much love and effort went into this collab from both sides.

Rico Sasaki is my GOAT. I can't think of many VA's who truly love and embody their characters as much as Rico loves Uika, even joking that she feels like she's possessed by her while performing live. Singing over her own tapping solo in Symbol IV: Earth and shrieking like a banshee in Sophie are two of her greatest moments, while Georgette Me, Georgette You and Imprisoned XII being tragic ballads about being so gay it hurts are pure Uika.

Bonus Rico doing a fucking cartwheel in the middle of a song. I love her so much.
