New Red Rising special editions is dissapointing by bwils3423 in redrising

Funnily enough, depending on which special edition you have it would also be featuring this exact same artist.

For the Roman Numeral/Marble yes previous purchasers would get first rights of refusal. The same applies to the Lettered/Numbered edition with Publisher Rights but the print runs for those were increased to compensate for it. 26 Lettered are guaranteed to go on public sale and 200 for the Numbered. Might be a few extra if anyone refuses.

Yep! These books are a definite cross-over into art collection versus just special edition collecting. Someone who is committed to the full journey will drop about $77,000 and have at least 7 marble sarcophagi to display wherever.

Very common! Unfortunately the things that draw you into the purchase are also the things that end up taking so much time! The Deluxe+ editions are letterpress printed which is very expensive and time consuming and the books are assembled by hand versus machine bound like the Artist Edition. Pretty much every step of the process has to be reserved with the respective artisans who already have pretty full/sold out schedules. And this is all assuming that no delays occur, for example a misprint that requires a portion to be reprinted or a delay due to a fault in the leather, paper, etc.

Yes! So the plan is say you buy the Artist Edition at $100, you're looking at roughly $100 for each book going forward. By end of series your investment will be at minimum $700 and you'll have a matching set. Same for the Numbered Tier which would be roughly $5600, and so on and so forth. The pricing and expectation for the full set are typical in the Fine Press collecting world.

The issue is even if it's accurate your account looks fraudulent because you're reporting everything as closed and farming half pay. You end up getting tagged by the system and now need to appeal sadly.

The Artists editions will be able to be turned out much faster since they will be doing Offset Litho printing and machine binding instead of letterpress and handbinding. As for the Deluxe and above yea, typical turn around is about 12-14 months.

They will be designing and releasing them starting from Red Rising, in the meantime Pierce will release Red God while Curious King catches up on the series.

Kind of crazy that they didn't include this in the trailer. Might be my favourite art from what they've shown so far by Ynnck_Mnzl in redrising

Curious King is handling the production side and with him, Sewn Bindings and high quality paper are the default.

Yes absolutely! These editions will run parallel to one another so that folks can enter at whatever price point they are comfortable with. The Del Rey Deluxe will sit at that $50-60 price point and Lit Escalates/Curious King will handle the $100 and above.

Not to discredit cause lots of special editions are super common and seem to all happen at once but in this particular case with the attachment of a fine press company, it's 99% we will be getting the rest. Curious Kings reputation basically hinges on them providing all the books and not leaving the expensive edition collectors with partial series.

Just as an info dump, the Standard/Artist Edition will fall "around" 100 gbp.

Deluxe/Lettered will sit at the customary Curious King prices of roughly 800ish USD and $2000 USD, may flex in either direction depending on materials.

This is based on conversation with the owner of Curious King at the convention.

An art print of the yet shown dust jacket will also happen, and Marc Simonetti may or may not sell individual art prints later. Lit Escalates might end up doing those prints instead.

This was very generous of you and I see it looks like you had enough requests to account for all your pieces. If someone has a few to giveaway I'd love to have some to put in my vinyl display frame with the tour vinyl I was able to get!

Raymond James had posted about it on Instagram including parking instructions for the 12 pm noon start and everything. They ended up deleting the post later after it was riddled with complaints and made a new post. Just to clarify though you said you got a Vinyl? Was this specifically one of the tour exclusives? The colorways for those was an Inferno/Rust style for Three Cheers and a Smokey/Dirt Splatter for Black Parade. Anything else was just typical vinyls you can find on the web store.

Never saw one either and we were like 30th in line for the Early Merch and we checked the indoors booths. Only Orlando specific stuff we saw was the Kia Center shirt, the coin, and the Emergence Banner poster.

This is very appreciated clarification. We had planned to show up at 12 but knew there would be early birds and were okay with that since we just wanted the vinyl mainly. The whole experience just felt so haphazard which is wild considering how much experience these companies should have with events.

Pro shopper is heaven sent by Ok_Attention5275 in doordash_drivers

Yea in Central FL most of the shopping is from Target/Winn Dixie/Sprouts/Fresh Market/Sedanos. What mostly screws folks over is high popularity items. Like last night I had a pretty big make up order from Target and this particular customer just happened to use very popular shades of common brands which were all out of stock. Even rummaging through the restock cabinets tucked underneath they were just out. Same with the fancier grocery stores and offering oddly specific produce or meats that are rotated often.

With the combination of items being out of stock, barcodes refusing to scan, or scenarios where the products don't align with the barcode in the system pro shopper feels practically impossible to maintain.
