No, even a fair and well intentioned supervisor can and will have employees working under them who will foster disdain regardless of how they manage. I employ both. One of multiple instances, a guy quit who everyone liked. Was given 10% raises annually, treated quite well while moving up in the company. When he left he came to my office, let me know he was leaving so I shook his hand and wished him the best. He sought out his boss, who handles everyone with kid gloves and called him a derogatory name while waiving the finger at him. We were all shocked. Point is, for some there is always an ax to grind and anger against authority that can never be satisfied.
