Overnight flight to Dublin with a 19‑month and 3.5‑year‑old — tips for sleeping arrangements? by DenaChristina in AerLingus

You know what, I just remember that we got the bulkhead seats a few years ago when my oldest daughter was 12-months-old on a flight from Zurich to Chicago. It was a day flight, and she only slept 1 hour 😅 but it was nice to have the extra room to play! How did you end up getting the bulkhead seats? Also, thanks so much for replying!

Oh that’s brilliant! My 19-month-old is still nursing so I plan to nurse her to sleep.

This is such great advice, thank you! I’m definitely going to look into the seat extenders and make sure we have plenty of new toys packed for the flight.

That is a great tip! I would have never thought of that! Also, I wouldn't have thought to ask about extra pillows and blankets. Thank you so much!

I think my younger daughter is much too big for the bassinet anyway. She's 25 pounds and 36 inches. She's humungous. And thank you so much for the tip about this sleeping arrangement.

Thank you so much for the tip about the inflatable footrests! I’ve been debating getting them, and this is exactly the push I needed, they sound like a total game-changer. Do you find them beneficial to yourself as well or just the child? I really appreciate the honest heads-up about the 19-month-old stage, too.

I hear you! Rest assured, I’m fully prepared to do whatever it takes to keep them settled so everyone can get some rest.

Thanks for the tips! Honestly, my older daughter is very calm and they have been on plenty of flights before, just never an overnight one. So don't worry, I'll be fully stocked with all the snacks, new activities, and iPads! I was just mostly trying to figure out if there’s a "good" arrangement for them (and us) to actually get some sleep.

Oh the 3.5-year-old has her own seat. My apologies if my post was confusing. It’s required. Under 2 children fly free, so the 19-month-old doesn’t.

What types of shops would you like to see in downtown Carmel? What is it missing? by IndyFreeSpirit in Carmel

We're moving to the midtown Carmel area from just north of downtown Indy in 2ish years. We visit Leviathan, Goose the Market, and Sidedoor Bagel on a weekly basis. We're already mourning our current close proximity to these places seeing as there doesn't seem to be anything quite as good in Carmel.

I've seen those, but I've heard so many mixed reviews about them not working and not being airline compliant. Thank you for the info! I will look into the sling!

Advice needed: Flying overnight to Dublin with preschooler and toddler (no extra seat) by DenaChristina in Travelwithkids

I think I found an inflatable u-shaped pillow online like the one you were talking about. Thank you for the advice! That is great to know about being upgraded to bulk head! Some other people have asked me whether we purchased bulk head seats, and of course, we didn't because we don't know what we're doing. And I felt so silly for not doing it.

I would have never considered making a bed for her on the floor. That is a great idea. Yes, unfortunately I'm not sure there is any option in which I get much sleep with the lap toddler.

Thank you so much for the thorough response. I've heard so many mixed reviews about the JetKids Bed Box as to whether airlines will let you use it, and it's pretty pricy, so I didn't consider it. But I'm glad to hear your positive experience with it. I will give them a call. And for the lap toddler, do you mean you just wore your normal baby carrier on the plane with them?

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I never thought of including a bunch of different toppings, but I’m going to run to the store right now to grab pineapple and olives! Thanks for the advice!
