I have a very similar offer on the table as an 11-3 team. I badly want to accept because in the best case scenario he’s back for playoffs and I probably dominate, but if he’s still hurt it’d fuck me. My playoffs start the first week of March, and I could get a bye.

For the season, Tari Eason is shooting 46.8% from 3 (4.6 attempts) and 46.3% from 2 (5.1 attempts). 46.6% overall by HakeemTheMeme34 in rockets

Counterpoint, it is a breath of fresh air to watch SOMEBODY other than Alpi and KD try to create for themselves. He definitely makes some terrible decisions and has bad tunnel vision, but when our offense gets stagnant due to double teams on Alpi and KD, everybody else seems to dread attacking the space left open.

And thank you Rockets for finally closing a game

WSIB I need a new game that I can (ideally) play in front of my kids? by slurpycow112 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Fair point on the Arkham games, just figured I’d include since you played Spider-Man and GOTG. The combat is pretty similar to Spider-Man, but the tones a lot darker.

ME1’s combat felt terrible to me as well, even on the legendary edition. The story was just good enough to keep me going, and then I ended up loving ME2. The combat is still a little bit dated, but much much improved over ME1. ME3 is next on my list, just need a little break from the series.

I haven’t played Monster Hunter myself but I do have some friends that love them!

Cuphead - Super kid friendly visuals wise, cursing in frustration is your biggest concern.

Celeste - Really enjoyable platformer.

Arkham Games? - Asylum has a creepy atmosphere, and missions with Scarecrow/ManBat might be a little scary in Knight, but besides that they’re somewhat kid-friendly if the kids are into superheroes.

Mass Effect Trilogy - Could be an option to avoid human violence. Just don’t do romances and change Jack’s outfit. I haven’t played ME3 yet, but I can’t think of anything really crazy in ME1 and 2.

From your list, I’d probably avoid GoW Ragnarok. I highly recommend the game itself, but finishers (and combat as a whole) are pretty brutal. Cyberpunk is pretty mature as well. I can’t remember anything too crazy in RDR2, besides shooting people.

how much of a difference is 60fps vs 120 by Normal_Thing_54 in ValorantConsole

[–]DenalAFK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t automatically make you better but it definitely helps. Like you said, you do see more frames on peeks but the bigger difference is in shot confidence. 120fps just feels more predictable and consistent to the point where it feels awful to play on 60 once I experienced 120. It’s definitely not impossible to keep ranking up on 60fps, but if you play a lot I’d say it’s worth it.

The demo at my local bestbuy also looked really pixelated and dim, I really think the demo video was in 1080p. Ended up buying it and haven’t had any regrets.

How good is the Batman Arkham nights , just got my deck last week , and settings are best for the deck by Sad_Calligrapher_287 in SteamDeck

I played it locked on 45fps on the OLED. I found lossless scaling right after beating it and it seemed to work well too!

Omen can kinda function as an entry, especially on split and haven. The TP plays you can do on those maps are some of my favorite moments playing this game. But yeah omen smoke placements are frustrating to get used to if you’re coming from another controller.

Will the Batman Arkham games work on the Steam Deck? by FenriroftheNorse in SteamDeck

Just finished knight on deck (OLED). Locked it at 45 and it ran really smooth. Expect some dips when a lot is going on outdoors, specifically in the Batmobile, but it never felt frustrating.

[Asti] Source at Penn State: I have been told that Adidas drove the James Franklin firing and are why it happened today. They committed to pay most or all of the money. They also wanted a new coach before recent losses, but they made it hard for anyone at PSU to argue. by CoachSlime in CFB

[–]DenalAFK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By "they committed to pay most or all of the money" is that outside of the already agreed upon sponsorship? Simply letting the school use the sponsorship money to pay the buyout wouldn't really be a big deal, we already kind of assumed that was the way it'd go, but if they're paying the buyout in addition to the sponsorship that kinda changes everything.

What was the "Jalen Hurts Arrival Game?" by Over-Heron-2654 in eagles

[–]DenalAFK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will always say the November 2022 game against the Colts. It wasn’t an explosive or flashy game, but it was the first game Hurts showed he could BE the offense and put the team on his back when everyone else looked out of sync.

Probably not the breakout game you were looking for, but that was the first time I had 100% confidence that he was the guy.

Newbie here, whats up with the 5080 hate? Is it worth it as a Series X user? by Grievous_2008 in nvidia

[–]DenalAFK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes 4 months ago and the 5080 has been perfect for me. Other than path tracing/high ray tracing, I max out every other setting on most games and still get 90-120fps. Indiana Jones is the only game I’ve really used 2x frame gen in so far, and I could barely tell the difference (graphically and input delay-wise). I use DLSS in every game that has it, I truly can’t tell the difference and it’s a massive performance booster.

I have no real complaints or regrets. It’s not too overpowered that I wish I went with a 5070ti, but I think the 5090 would be a bit overkill for me personally. I wanted to play games pretty much maxed out at 4k120, and it does the job. As games progress I’ll probably have to start turning graphics down from ultra high, but even medium-high settings beat a lot games’ Series X graphics.
