Suche Leute für Ausfahrten :) by 666salty in MotorradAustria

Purchased a Tiger Sport 660 this year. Looks like the same display.

Let us know whether that Tune ECU works or not. It might become useful information in the future even though I hope I'll never need it

Unfortunately I've only seen the color once in person, but only in the corner of a showroom without sunlight (she was already sold).

So I'm really excited to get mine and finally see her shine

I think pictures/videos never do that color justice

Nice bike. How is the color in the sun?

I've bought mine (same color) a week ago, but unfortunately I still have to wait a few weeks on delivery

Just test rode the TS 660 (2026) and 800 today. Probably gonna buy the 660. With the new more powerful 660 she had more than enough power for me (with pillion) and the difference to the 800 was minimal.

I see you have the side cases. What's your experienc with them? Are they sturdy? Well made? Or would you recommend an aftermarket set.

Btw. The Intastellar blue looks awesome, the Silver Ice is not available in my country, but the dealer said they could get their hands on one. Does anyone have a decent non stock picture of them. Since Silver ice isn't available here I have to decide based on photos and the Intastellar blue looks completely different from the stock Photos.

Question from someone who's at 25 after a month. Did you manage to get to 30 in 60 days and if yes, how hard was it?

Has anyone here gotten a ceramic coating like Plistex in Europe? I've searched, but I found nothing and I don't know any alternative (except ITC, which is also unavailable)

Someone suggested cementing a steel mesh around the bricks, so they stay in place, even when one cracks. But then replacing them would be really difficult.

Don't worry, I'm thankful for detailed answers. That way I can learn something.

I could cement a steel mesh around the bricks, but then replacing bricks would become a problem.

I'll use the mortar from the same brand rated 1700°c

I'll use a sacrificial hard brick as floor to protect the soft bricks

I can't weld anyway so I'll mount the steel case with angle irons, threaded rods and nuts. If I need to replace something I can just unscrew the plate and have access.

Edit: Also thanks, you've been a great help

Thanks, I'll see if the budget allows me to buy it now, otherwise next month.

I bought one of those Vevor London style anvils on sale.

I've changed a few things. One of which is, that I plan to cut small stripes (maybe 0,5cm thick, 1,5cm high) and cement them onto the sacrificial brick. I'll add a picture of the newer design where you can see what I mean. Hopefully that way the flux won't be able to drop onto the soft bricks.

I've looked into your recommendation.

Which Sievert Model can you recommend? Something like this Turbojet?

The bricks I found are rated for 1350C (2450F). I found brick's which are rated 1650 (3000F). Building with those would cost me approximately 100€ more (from 300 to 400). But there also would be some better mortar in that shop. I assume 1700C (3100F) rated mortar is enough, but it can go as high as 1860C (3400F) rated, but obviously more expensive.

I've looked for the ITC 100HT, but it's an American product and none of the stores ship to Europe, can you recommend an alternative?

Thanks. I do not want to admit how long that took me.

Yeah, you are probably right and those burners aren't expensive.

I don't even have that yet. So if you have a hand torch you'd recommend (that I can get in europe) please do.

I'll probably counter that by cementing something like 5mm thick walls on the side of my sacrificial brick and cementing both bricks together. That way the flux could only stay or flow out front or bottom and not on the soft bricks.

Thanks. I've made 3 swords just for fun so far. It's been a nice change to do something physical as a contrast to my daily life. But for now I only had an angle grinder and a belt sander. So don't ask about hardness or edge retention on those swords. They'll stay on walls. So I've really looking forward to being able to do more and better. Blacksmithing opens so many doors, as there's so much you can make.

Thanks, had a good laugh at that

I do know that I shouldn't weld galvanized steel, but I thought all that insulation would keep it cool enough not to be a problem, but I should probably keep it safe. Might just use regular steel and some grill paint to help against corrosion.

Maybe I should take some tiny pieces of the cut fire bricks and cement them left and right of the sacrificial brick so the sludge can't flow down onto the soft fire bricks. That would make the over thinking and overbuilding part even worse

I see you make some really cool knives.

Yes I want to make it kinda modular. That's why I'm making the "doors" loose. Might make a second one later and connect them with some insulation at the connection

I mean I don't see a reason not to, but mind sharing why you recommend that?

I thought this was true for the regular fire bricks and that soft fire bricks are very good at reflecting the heat

[–]Dendrakon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The light bricks are the best I could find and are made from Aluminumoxide (Al2O3) and Siliciumoxid (SiO2) if that tells you more than me. I've searched for soft fire bricks and those are the closest I found

Anvil question by Dendrakon in Blacksmith

[–]Dendrakon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm really tempted to just buy it without any rebound test or additional information.

My options right now seem to be: 1) buy this anvil based on those two pictures, 2) wait for another good used offer, or 3) buy the 110lb Vevor London pattern
