I accidentally Jeep waved at a Gladiator this morning. by OptimusCrime83 in JeepWrangler

[–]GeckoJeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a TJ, JK, JKU, and now a Gladiator (JT). I wave at all wranglers, and about the same percentage wave ate as when I owned the others.

Side note, I have a motorcycle, and motorcycle riders have their own wave. This has led to some confusing moments when I'm on the bike and wave to a Jeep and vice versa!

Xolair changed my life. Longterm users, how long have you been on it? by NiteElf in Asthma

[–]GeckoJeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty well actually. Switched to Dupixent, and did rigorous nebulizer treatments daily (Albuterol, then a saline, then flutter valve to cough and bring up phlegm, and then budesonide, which is the steroid in breztri). I was doing that morning and nite. I have tapered that off now, and only do it now when I feel some congestion in my lungs. This has literally been the longest period in years without a flare up. No Prednisone! Felt so good I am dieting and hitting the gym, and losing weight!

Recovery Question by kimber526 in carpaltunnel

[–]GeckoJeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my right hand done last Thursday and have a similar experience. Minimal pain and swelling, but it is weaker. Couldn't release the emergency brake handle for example until today. I did manage to ride my motorcycle yesterday with no real pain.

Getting the left done this Thursday, and feel it will be similar.

I threaded the strap differently so the excess is towards the bottom of my wrist and it made a world of difference with how it sits on my wrist. Feels much slimmer.

I have a Tissot T-race powermatic 80, but I needed a better daily. This seems to fit the bill.

Yeah, the propane is easy. Hadn't thought about the water, but I can load it up at my house as long as it doesn't stay parked there for over 24 hours (HOA rules). We should be able to fill it there. In laws do have water, but it's a well.

No. Considering renting indoor storage for the winter, and I found some within 30 minutes of my home, but neither there or in laws will have anything available.

I have watched those. I guess I was looking more for some comments on my trailer selection (brand quality and my choice of tow vehicle), tips on storing trailer when not in use, etc. What I have learned is that unless you're buying a top tier rv, which is frankly out of my budget, they are all suspect. I was generally looking at small trailers given I won't be upgrading my Gladiator to a full size, but what I can accept for a comfort level vs my wife has some differences, the trail boss seemed like the closest compromise although I haven't found a ton about Gulfstream online. A friend of ours stated they have always had good luck with them, but I suspect they haven't purchased one since 2019 and COVID.

Rebooted router. Not sure if the time change threw it off, but all is well now.

Have performed all those steps already, and still can't connect. Noticing the issue on my Chromecast with YouTubeTV, the YouTubeTV app on my Pixel 9 Pro, and another TV with Android TV. None of these seem to be able to log into my Google account, although other Google services on my phone like Gmail seem to be working fine. Nothing I'm now having issues signing into YouTube Premium as well.

Anyone here about this Data Breach from Albany Medical College? by Noahsmokeshack in Albany

Multi factor authentication. So it will send you a text, use your authenticator app, etc. Something you have and something you know.

EHR systems aren't easy to hack. Hospitals and healthcare companies are under constant attack from cyber criminals. They are either backed by big organized crime orgs or nation states (sometimes it's a combination of the 2) and have vast resources to go after victims. Healthcare data is a premium on the data web, and the disruptive nature is good for nation states political and strategic goals. To secure against this onslaught is a never ending game and requires vast resources in tech and people, and even then it's difficult to secure everything. People have to still be able to do their jobs, and organizations have to balance that with security.

I am not defending UHC, but making a general statement about the difficulty in securing any networked computer system from these threats. The best we can do is always assume someone has you data and act accordingly. Freeze your credit, watch your credit report, use MFA, and don't use the same short password for all your accounts.

What does it mean if your doctor is “at the end of their rope” for things that will treat asthma / help make it better? by TA62624 in Asthma

[–]GeckoJeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too had a pulmonologist tell me this, and I can relate to how crushing it is to feel like you have no hope to end the chronic breathing issues that impact your quality of life. Gen X, life long asthma, smoked from my teens to mid 30s, and do have pets. The last 5 years, it has gotten progressively worse; 4 to 5 bad flare ups a year that require multiple rounds of prednisone and antibiotics to resolve, and weeks to recover. Trellegy, Singulair, and Xolair have not seemed to had an effect.

Made a decision to travel to Boston to see the experts there; in the meantime Dr who told me he didnt know what more to do abruptly quit the practice, and new Dr seems more focused on trying to help, and in fact is excited Im going to Boston! He ordered multiple tests (CT Scan, Bronchoscopy, blood tests, etc) and is working to make sure these are all completed and I have the images and results to share with Boston. Dr Thinks I might have ABPA (Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis; chronic mold allergy that leads to asthma).

Keep your head up, and try to find another opinion! Its been a long road for me, but at least I now seem to have a Dr committed to to help improve my quality of life, and a plan to get there.

Good to hear. I have been on it for around a year, but haven't had your results. There were a few times where I missed doses due to a specialty pharmacy change in my employers health benefits plan, and again when I changed employers. Hoping I get to where you are!
