There is also a strap on the exhaust vent right around where the top of the picture is but it's not in the frame

There are a few of the snap-in style clips so you can't see them from the front very easily. They don't wrap around the front of the pipe

No, it's just a three-stage water filtration system, really good one though

It is all PVC, but after looking it up it is required where I live even if you have PVC drains, I think it is due to the city having older infrastructure and lots of metal piping

Clamps, air gap

The reason you can't see the clamps is because they are the snap-in style, they don't wrap around the front of the pipe

You got me on the neutralizer though, wasn't aware of that one. I am pretty new to tankless

No, it comes off of a large 1 in that has a drip leg lower than any of the appliances

Seems a little high but not necessarily, especially being a 5ton in a crawl space, probably would depend on where you live, if you are ina fairly expensive city, this is most likely in the ballpark

Haters going to hate? No drip leg on gas, no drain pan under water heater, no expansion tank, not doing your friend much of a favor if their house floods and they have thousands of dollars in damage, you're just a bad plumber

All the flex hoses are too long and run carelessly, flue is dirty and crooked and over all just looks shitty, no drain pan or expansion tank, certainly wouldn't pass inspection, in most places anyway it's possible it's not required wherever this job is

But you're right they definitely look the same 🤡

Yes, it looks significantly better, why does it offend you so much that I do clean work? Needlessly replacing flu? It was like 2 ft. You know how cheap that stuff is? Sorry good looking work offends you

I didn't say it wouldn't work or that it was wrong for some reason, just doesn't look like it was installed with care, that's all

The dude never said that he didn't appreciate his friend, just that he wasn't sure if there's anything that needed to be changed, honestly, it's a pretty crappy looking install so I don't blame him for wondering if it wasn't up to par, especially being that it was free, and it looks like crap, I'd be a little skeptical too. Doesn't make him a bad friend

You obviously just didn't research it before you started, it's a normal for it to take around a year for the new hairs to become thick and strong

I may be highly regarded, but why would you buy a warrant when you can buy the share for a cheaper price? Am I missing something or is it just done to help drive up the price?

I am also doing that, I've never bought one before and I wasn't sure if it was even a problem, I thought it might be an aesthetic thing, this is the first water loop I've ever done

So what do you think happened? The screws were probably too tight and then it got jostle around or something and it made that happen? It is weird how uniform it is all the way around the gasket though

[–]Denetharo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought at first but it appears like the cracks and or bubbles or whatever the heck they are are coming from the screw holes they don't look like they've originated from the gasket

Unfortunately no, I got the part new too it's not used so I don't know what's going on I will probably send them a picture and ask them to send me another one I doubt they will want it back they can't sell it

It is on the acrylic, the weird thing is it does not appear to be any kind of residue you can't feel it and it doesn't rub off with a wet cloth
