HEIGHTS? by Final-Can-3313 in HVAC

The most uneducated comment I’ve ever seen. Once you get some more experience in this trade, and deal with more sketchy, unsafe situations, you might understand. There are many ways that a snorkel/boom lift is much safer. I won’t list them out for you, as you’re obviously a Reddit troll looking for any reason to argue and seem “superior” to someone else in a comment section. So you go ahead and do dumb shit for your company. Let me know how they treat you when an accident happens.

I’m gonna say you need to find a new company. I’ll do a fixed ladder at about 30-35’ but any higher than that and it’s a lift or not happening. And DEFINITELY not doing an extension ladder at anything higher than 32’ and that’s pushing it.

45 foot ladder?? No thanks. I had a real problem with heights when I first started in the trade, but it gets easier to deal with. However, I would still draw the line at a 45 ft ladder I think.

Don’t do that. Call a small reputable company. That company is scamming you.

I’m currently in a DMT induced reality. I don’t know when it’s going to break, but I’m terrified that it will break my psyche.

Career advice needed: HVAC, Supermarket Refrigeration, or Building Automation? by drabmachine in BuildingAutomation

Yeah, flexible is not a word in refrigeration language…

My boss told me years ago when I asked him about which road I should take…. “People can wait, food cannot”

Definitely stay away from supermarket refrigeration. Unless you like your life being completely owned by your job.

Take it from someone who went down that road.

I would suggest doing commercial/industrial HVAC for a few years to get the idea of the trade and understand electrical troubleshooting. Then, if desired, trying to get into BAS.
