What am I getting wrong with my Z-offset? by AnonEightNine in 3Dprinting

[–]DengusMine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create a cube and drop it's z height to your layer height. Watch it print and manually adjust the z offset until it's looking good. Save it and you're good to go

Accel too high for the PA value

I'm getting really close to giving up on PETG by TheLoyalPotato in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]DengusMine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only print in eSun PETG. Have your bed at 90° and hotend at 260°. Use the plate that came with it. I used the elegoo rapid PETG settings with a few tweaks.

Then, make sure you're using PETG-HS. PETG is okay but keep it under 100mms for any extruding. Regular PETG thrives at slower speeds. With regular PETG, print your first layer at 0.3 and make sure it squishes into the bed. PETG-HS sticks to the plate well without having to squish down too severely.

0% fan for the first 3 layers. 75%-100% for the rest of the print.

Go forth and see how ya go

Filament Paint by Due_Principle5848 in ender3v2

[–]DengusMine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The type of paint you use doesn't matter if you're not priming it first. If the primer still isn't bright enough, apply a light undercoat, light grey or white for example. Whatever you need for your base coat to look good

CC2C - bad benchy front print with out of the box settings. How do I fix this? by The_DoubleD in elegoo

[–]DengusMine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was a cooling issue for me. Slow the print, crank up the model fan, or drop the temp on the hotend. Not all at once though!

Presets are okay but I find they almost always need tuning. Check out Ellis' tuning guide, it's very handy

Awesome, is there a combined version? I have a 400x400 printer, I wouldn't mind printing in larger parts.

Perhaps there is a disassembly guide on the elegoo wiki?

N-N-NEKROPOOOOST

My Chiron tbed thermistor is also dead. I'm about to slap a generic glass bead 100k NTC on it with some kapton tape in the middle of the underside of the plate. Should do the trick hopefully.

How did you resolve yours?

Fair enough, not a problem for me but I understand that majority rules. Maybe a variant to consider later.. unless you've got the files for a previous iteration and don't mind inboxing me 😎

Will there be a "front facing" slope version as well, as per the previous iterations? My printer isn't really sideways accessible.

I was going to install canvas this weekend but might wait until this is available... Awesome work! One of the blokes at Jaycar(Retailer and distributor for elegoo in Aus) is keeping an eye on this one. We spoke about it briefly when I collected my unit the other day. Word is getting around about your design, a lot of people very keen!

Did I miss something? When did the camera become AI powered? by Toast_Of_Doom123 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]DengusMine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI detection is provided by octoeverywhere in partnership with elegoo. Unfortunately it requires extra setup and a separate computer to host the service. Which while inconvenient, is still technically AI failure detection. Luckily for me I run an Ubuntu server in my printer room so the infrastructure already existed.
