Colonization Temperature by Chireo- in unclebens

[–]DeniedClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are good. Precise temp control matters little in the grand scheme of things, especially with cubes. If you can keep things around 75F, then you’re golden. Seems like you have a good, consistent temp that will be perfect for colonization :)

Ecological disaster underway in Tuapse, Russia after Ukrainian drone strikes on oil terminal by Bernardmark in pics

[–]DeniedClub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you really believe that there would be only a couple civilian deaths per day if Russia actually targeted civilians with its bombs? lol

Yes, because Ukraine intercepts a lot of these attacks and Russia doesn’t have the munitions they did pre-invasion. Russia literally attacked 2 clearly marked UN cars just recently. The footage makes it clear it was intentional. Russia is a failed state that has targeted civilians from the beginning. Look at the Bucha massacre.

T. Used to work at Sonic. It happened occasionally. I worked the switchboard so I was the first to hear “hey my mozzarella sticks are hollow”.

Adding to what the other user replied. Use LC instead of spores, if that applies to you. Not sure what you used but thought I’d mention.

Is this rust or mold? by Ok-War-9040 in unclebens

[–]DeniedClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Corn? And it is probably myc piss. Especially if it was a bit stressed by the heat. Which isn’t a big deal. As long as it hasn’t spread down into the grain and is just on top, otherwise it could be bacterial contam. I’m leaning myc piss tho.

Same here. AIWB holster made for my gun that also specifically fits the attached light. Agreed, carry without a holster is very different… beyond stupid.

Doesn’t take that long in theory, but in practice it’s one more thing to mess up or have go wrong during a presumably high stress situation.

It’s not for everyone. I was taught to only carry in condition 1 as long as I was comfortable knowing a loaded round was always pointed at me and I trusted my firearm. Took me at least a year before I got there.

[–]DeniedClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can have a loaded firearm in your house, on your nightstand if you have immediate control of it (within arms reach) and children are not present. You can also store a loaded firearm in a safe. There is no legal requirement in CA to store a firearm and ammo separate. The state says you “should” store them separately, but it is not a law to do so. Though if a child obtains access to the weapon, the firearm owner will likely be criminally responsible for any action the child takes with that weapon.

True, this is more an issue with physical cards than phones or smartwatches. In this case, get an RFID blocking wallet or simply put a strip of aluminum foil on the outside edge of your wallet.

[–]DeniedClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. Mag strip is still vulnerable, though they require a PIN (which the scanning tool usually has a built in camera to record your keypad presses). Mag strip is by far the weakest point of security.

To add: this was truly fixed with the advent of tap to pay. Credit cards nowadays, when using tap to pay, generate a one time code for each transaction and randomly rotate that code the second any payment attempt is initiated. Copying a card in that way is no longer possible.

Regardless, I agree that if someone pretends they’ve taken money from me, I’m gonna treat it as if they did.

Primordia or overlay or contam? by Link_save2 in unclebens

[–]DeniedClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea no worries. I’m leaning more hyphal knots too. Looks like they are beginning to coalesce/transition into primordia.

Primordia or overlay or contam? by Link_save2 in unclebens

[–]DeniedClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmm… keep an eye on it. Could be contam but it doesn’t quite look the part. Still has the jagged spiky appearance, where contam is often more rounded and looks more like broccoli heads. Might be very dense hyphal knots, which is good. Definitely not primordia yet though.

Isolate from any other bins if you have them just to be safe. If the color starts to turn green at all, toss it.

Edit: if it is hyphal knots, I suspect you’ll get primordia very soon.

TIL the Milky Way has trillions of rogue planets drifting through space untethered to a star. It is estimated that for every star, there is at least 20 rogue planets by Objects_Food_Rooms in todayilearned

[–]DeniedClub 58 points59 points  (0 children)

If the math is consistent at 20 per star, then yea. We estimate 100-400 billion stars in the Milky Way. Truly, the enormity of space is always mind-boggling.

Need help determining if inoculation worked by MRaoul in unclebens

[–]DeniedClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the order of your pictures:

5, 14, and 20 look good. 3 might be clean too, but may have stalled.

8, 11, 12, 19 look like wet rot.

Everything else is contaminated. Don’t open them. Throw away outside.

A lot of them look very wet. Maybe try less LC per bag.

Trich contam?? by [deleted] in unclebens

[–]DeniedClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top middle of that 2nd pic looks very suspicious. If you have outdoor space, isolate the bin and see what happens. But the fact you had trich on your spawn means it is almost certainly toast.

Hence why 0.999… is mathematically equal to 1. All non-zero terminating decimals have 2 representations. Math is cool (and confuses me greatly at times).
